Know the signs. Start the conversation. Support their mental wellness early.

Some of Leonia’s biggest change makers are the people who simply called it home. Have you met Mr. Choi? 😊

For 35 years, Mr. Philip Choi was more than the owner of Manor Beverages — he was a cornerstone of the Leonia community. As Leonia’s first Korean American business owner and the first Korean American elected to public office in our region, Mr. Choi helped pave the way for greater representation, opportunity, and belonging in our borough.

Serving two terms as a Leonia Councilman beginning in 2006, Mr. Choi’s leadership extended far beyond business. Through his service with Rotary of the Palisades, the Leonia Lions Club, and countless community efforts, he helped strengthen the civic spirit that makes Leonia so special.

Mr. Choi’s legacy is woven into Leonia’s story and continues to inspire future generations. The next time you think about Leonia’s story, think about the neighbors who helped write it.

You can read more about Mr. Choi’s story by clicking the link in our bio!

🌟Happy AAPI Heritage Month!🌟 Beyond recognition, this month is a reminder to listen, learn, and uplift AAPI voices. From building the transcontinental railroad and advancing civil rights, to leading innovations in medicine, technology, and the arts, AAPI communities have shaped every part of society. It’s about honoring that impact while continuing to push for visibility and equity.🌏💛

In case you missed it: has been hard at work strengthening protections for one of New Jersey’s most vulnerable communities—our immigrant neighbors.

This matters. Immigrant families contribute deeply to our state’s economy, enrich our cultural landscape, and strengthen our communities. When they feel safe and supported, all of New Jersey benefits. 🤝❤️

🌷🐣 Happy Easter!

Easter is celebrated by millions around the world as a reminder of rebirth and resilience. Rooted in Christian tradition, it marks the resurrection of Jesus, but many of the symbols we love today—like eggs and spring blooms—come from even older traditions celebrating new life and the arrival of spring.

Whether you’re here for the meaning, the chocolate, or the soft pastel vibes, may today bring a little light, a little joy, and a fresh start. 🌼✨
