At the Mayor & City Council Regular Meeting on June 8, the Mayor and Council announced they will be reaching out to Senators to share their comments and perspectives on Senate Bill 23 as part of the ongoing legislative discussion. They also noted that during the June 24 Work Session, the Council will review the details involved in formally establishing the Parking Ad Hoc Committee. In addition, the City authorized moving forward with applications for grant funding through the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program and the Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) program.

Bio: A Garage Band Grown Up. Born out of Lewes-Rehoboth basements and garages from the 60s and 70s, forming what is the core of The Funsters rhythm section, Ed Shockley on drums/vocals, Dickie Messick on bass and Greg Mack on guitar/vocals, the Fun Size was conceived initially to play all the music that was popular in their youth including British Invasion and R&B groups of the 60s. The group was later joined by Wilmington Native and Milton transplant Tony Venutra on guitar/vocals.

The Delaware DNREC Division of Watershed Stewardship, through the Shoreline and Waterway Management Section, has initiated a regulatory review of Delaware’s Regulation Governing Beach Protection and the Use of Beaches (7 DE Admin. Code 5102). DNREC is evaluating proposed updates that will strengthen the Coastal Construction Program, clarify regulatory language, and improve protection of Delaware’s beach and dune systems.

The City engineers, GMB, will be surveying in the Burton neighborhood around 4th Street, Dupont, Paynter, Burton, and Johnson starting today, June 3. This work is related to the joint City/BPW sewer and water replacement project. There will be intermittent work over the next few weeks.
