This morning, Lewisburg Neighborhoods headed out to the recycling center and quickly realized something: it was already a busier-than-usual day and the heat was no joke!!

So we showed up the way neighbors should!!

We placed a quick call to our friends at Cycle Up Cafe and ordered iced coffees and teas for the Borough crew working hard outdoors, helping keep operations moving at the recycling center. When they heard what was going on, they stepped in immediately, sponsoring the moment and adding sandwiches for the team as well.

No production. No planning window. Just a simple call and a shared understanding that when your neighbors are working in the heat, you show up.

Because community isn’t built in big gestures, it’s built in the small, responsive ones!!

Stay cool folks!!

Have you ever wanted to explore the Susquehanna River but weren’t sure where to start?

Last night, neighbors, friends, and first-time paddlers gathered at the Lewisburg Landing to take the first step by participating in Lewisburg Neighborhoods’ Public Paddle Safety Briefing. It was an evening dedicated to building confidence, learning essential safety skills, and preparing for a season on the water.

A special thank you to Isaac Kraenbring, a master’s student in environmental engineering at Bucknell University, for volunteering his time and expertise. His passion for the outdoors and commitment to sharing safe paddling practices help make this program possible for our community.

The Public Paddle Program is a unique opportunity to experience the Susquehanna River while connecting with others who enjoy adventure and the outdoors. Participation is available through a $40 program fee or by completing two hours of volunteer service with Lewisburg Neighborhoods, followed by a safety briefing, making it an accessible way to get involved and give back.

If you missed this briefing, there’s still time to join us. Our next Public Paddle Safety Briefings will be held July 7 and July 21 at 5:00 PM at the Lewisburg Landing.

We hope to see you at the next briefing and on the river this season!!

We are planning for the future of public parking here in Lewisburg. Our longtime meters are no longer manufactured and we cannot get replacement parts. As such, the borough needs to transition to something new soon…but what?

Please help by taking this anonymous survey about parking in Lewisburg. The results will be shared with the Borough Council to communicate our priorities as the borough makes important decisions about the future of parking here.
