$25,000 IN STOLEN PROPERTY RECOVERED; TWO ARRESTED
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, in a successful collaboration with the Chapel Hill Police Department, has recovered more than $25,000.00 in stolen goods following a targeted investigation.
THE INVESTIGATION
The case began when the Chapel Hill Police Department located several suspicious items on a property adjacent to 2245 Highway 99. Through diligent field work, CHPD officers were able to trace the items back to an owner who was out of state at the time. The owner confirmed the property had been stolen from his residence on Finley Road.
Upon receiving this information, the Chapel Hill Police Department contacted the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.
THE RECOVERY
Utilizing the leads provided, MCSO investigators obtained and executed a search warrant for the property at 2245 Highway 99, where a significant cache of additional stolen property was located. The total value of the recovered items is estimated to be over $25,000.00.
ARRESTS & CHARGES
Two subjects found in possession of the property, Owen Woodard and Hunter Eagle, were taken into custody. Both have been charged with:
• Possession of Stolen Property over $10,000.00
A MESSAGE FROM THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE
"We want to thank the Chapel Hill Police Department for their vital assistance and sharp investigative work in this case," said the Sheriff’s Office. "Protecting the property and livelihoods of Marshall County residents remains our top priority!"

There is a scam which we have had 3 calls about today. The number shows up as the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and they advise that you have missed a court date and there is a warrant for your arrest. They will try to get you to pay a bond to keep from going to jail or tell you to go to the Sheriff’s Office. Then they will call you later and tell you they couldn’t make it to the Sheriff’s Office and you need to send them the money. Do not send any money. If you have doubts or questions call us directly at 931-359-6122. These scammers will also use officers names at the Sheriff’s Office to try and convince you to send them money. We will never ask for any money.
