West Granville Twp Fire Company is pleased to announce that we have entered into contract with E-One and CET Fire Pump Manufacturing/Ford for the purchase of 2 new pieces of apparatus.

The first is an upgrade to our current Special Unit and will be designated as a Mini Attack Engine. It will be equipped with a 1250 GPM Hale Pump and hold 300 gallons of water. It will carry 300' of 3"hose, 300' of 5" hose, and (2) 200' 1-3/4 attack lines. It is designed to support the needs of our growing rural 1st due area in both structural and brush/vegetation fire attack.

The second piece is an E-One tanker and will complement our current 2004 Pierce tanker. The E-One tanker will sit atop an International HV-607chassie with a water capacity of 2,030 Gallons. It will have dual operational controls of both side and rear tank dump valves. As well, it will be complemented with a 2,500-porta tank, a 28' extension ladder as well as additional fire suppression equipment.

Expected delivery of the Mini-Attack is July 2026. The tanker is expected to arrive September of 2027.

A really busy Fire Prevention week for the WGTFC volunteers as 3 presentations were made. On Thursday we spent the afternoon with the Strodes Mills Elementary school grades K- 3. Well over 250 students and teachers participated in a Fire Prevention program and then got a hands on look at their 1st due apparatus.
On Friday, we hosted a local Home School association at our station. There, a 2 1/2 hour program was presented to both students and their parents. What a delightful morning with awesome group of attentive and enthusiastic students and parents. Then on Saturday morning/ afternoon, we participated in a Fire prevention program hosted by Lowe’s Home Improvements Store in Lewistown. There, we joined a number of additional Mifflin County fire stations for the program. We had a great time distributing fire safety information and even managed get in a little recruiting with a couple of our neighbors taking membership applications. What a great opportunity to serve our community.
