There’s a lot going on in Lewisville this morning!

First, the Historic Nissen House was set up at The Coffee Mill to promote their upcoming events. Take some time to learn about Lewisville’s history and attend one of their events soon!

I also learned that we have a member of our community who is involved with the NC Toaster Expo, and last year Lewisville hosted the NC Toaster Expo. In the second photo, I’m holding an antique toaster!

Lastly, The Sparrow’s Nest is hosting its Old Mill Market today until 3:00 p.m. The market takes place on the first Saturday of each month!

What a great night last night at Shallowford Square with the Crystal Aria band. As I said during the welcome, “Lewisville is one of the greatest towns in the state of North Carolina. One of the things that contribute to that is our summer concert series.” Thanks to all who came out to enjoy the show with us last night!

Today I joined the Mayor for his first visit to one of my favorite restaurants in Lewisville, Liberty Family Restaurant. It was a great meal, as always, and I love supporting the local businesses that are in our Town. I told the Mayor, “You can’t be the Mayor of Lewisville and have never been to Liberty!” So I was happy to join him for his first trip!

The weather held out for our first concert of the event season! Thanks to all who were able to come out to our Military Appreciation Concert last night with The Embers!

Last Saturday, we had our first ever Lewisville Community Day and it was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the day with us, our committee volunteers, the Lewisville Civic Club for serving breakfast, and the Vienna Civic Club for serving lunch! I look forward to next year’s Community Day!

Part of the discussions of our current Town Council has been how our Town can better support the small businesses that are here in our Town. I feel that the entrepreneurial spirit of our small businesses helps to drive our small town character.

The Mayor and I are hosting a Lewisville Small Business Roundtable discussion on Wednesday, April 15th at 6pm. The event will begin at 6pm at the Mary Alice Warren Community Center in the Lewisville room. This is a great opportunity for small business owners in our community to come and share their thoughts with us so that we can bring them back to the rest of the Council and our Town staff.
