Global Lex recently welcomed a delegation from Kazakhstan through the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program for a discussion on local government, global engagement and Lexington’s international connections.

Congratulations to all Fayette County Public School students ( ) on their last day of school. Especially the incredible 25 students who we got to celebrate for graduating the English learner program at the University of Kentucky’s International Center last week.

Your hard work and perseverance have paid off and we were so glad to learn, play, sing, and dance with you all.

A special shoutout to the incredible UK students who were such amazing role models and success examples.

Did you know that 1 in 5 FCPS students are multilingual and are active in the English Learner program? Did you also know that around 100 languages are spoken by FCPS students. How cool is that!!

Global Lex was proud to partner with the University of Kentucky HAMPLAB earlier this month to host a powerful Health, Safety, & Education Community Event bringing together nearly 100 residents from Lexington’s multilingual and multicultural communities.

Participants engaged in interactive sessions focused on:
Dementia & healthy aging
Emergency preparedness
Public safety awareness
Domestic violence prevention
English language learning games & activities

The event created a space for learning, connection, empowerment, and community care. All while ensuring residents had access to culturally responsive and multilingual engagement opportunities.

A huge thank you to our incredible partners who helped make this event possible, including the Lexington Fire Department, LFUCG Emergency Management and Director Robert Larkin, the Domestic & Sexual Violence Prevention Coalition, Revival & Reconciliation Church, Global Family Shield, and all the interpreters and community leaders who showed up to support Lexington’s global community.

We had such a great time engaging with the community at the ‘s Festival Día de las Madres at Masterson Station over the weekend. Hundreds of people were able to enjoy incredible performances, engage with a diverse set of service providers, and most of all, celebrate mothers. Gracias Madres 🙏
