Lansdowne Elementary School Lansdowne was built in 1966 and renovated in 2000. Our population includes students from more than 30 countries speaking more than 25 languages.

At Lansdowne Elementary, we pledge to provide the foundation for students to become critical and creative thinkers, effective communicators, independent learners, and responsible citizens. In spite of the changing demographics through the years, we have a strong history of academic success and progress because we emphasize the achievement of all students. The Lansdowne staff ensures that all students are cared for, valued, and held to high behavioral standards to create a safe learning environment. This is a school where all students can feel successful and become prepared for the 21st century. We are proud to be a PBIS school, where we teach and reward positive behavior. Our approximate enrollment is 620 with class sizes averaging 24 students in grades Pre-K - 5th. Our certified staff have all achieved or are working toward a master's degree. They all participate in myriad professional learning activities and seminars during the summer and throughout the school year. The mission of Fayette County Public Schools is to create a collaborative community that ensures all students achieve at high levels and graduate prepared to excel in a global society.

🌟 Monday Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Stefanie Hauswald 🌟
This week, we are thrilled to shine the spotlight on Mrs. Stefanie Hauswald, our wonderful Behavior Intervention / PBIS Coach!
Born and raised right here in Lexington, KY, Mrs. Hauswald has been supporting and guiding our students at Lansdowne for the past 3 years, bringing positivity and encouragement to every hallway. 📚✨

💡 What She Loves About Our School

"Getting to know students in all grade levels and watching students grow throughout the year."

❤️ Her Inspiration
Teaching runs in Mrs. Hauswald's family! She was inspired to pursue a career in education by her uncle, who was a high school teacher.

🐾 Beyond the Classroom
📚 Favorite Subject in School: Anything that had to do with reading, writing, or English!
🦴 Fun Fact: She loves ghost hunting and anything related to Bigfoot! 🕵️‍♀️🦶
⚾ Hobbies: Needlepointing, reading, and watching her son play baseball and football

💙 We are so lucky to have Mrs. Hauswald at Lansdowne because of her dedication to getting to know every student across all grade levels. Her passion for helping kids grow, paired with her supportive presence and positive leadership, helps make our school community a place where every Leopard can thrive. Thank you for all you do to guide and encourage our students! 🐾

🍂🎃 What a Friday! 🎃🍂
Lansdowne’s annual Fall Festival was an absolute success! We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect autumn day, and seeing so many of our families come out made it extra special.
A huge high-five to our first-ever Trunk or Treat—it was a massive hit, and the decorated trunks did not disappoint! 🚗🍬✨

An event like this takes a village, and we have the best one around. A heartfelt THANK YOU to:
🙌 Our Amazing Volunteers for giving your time and energy
🍬 Candy Bag Donors for keeping our festive spirits (and sugar levels!) high
🏫 Our Staff for working behind the scenes to make everything run smoothly
💙 Our PTA for all the hard work, planning, and dedication to our community

So much fun was had, and so many wonderful memories were made. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us!

🌳 Tree Week Fun! 🍃
Preschool had such an amazing time celebrating Tree Week! 🌟

First, Pony from Raven Run stopped by for a visit! Our students learned about trees and forest creatures through an interactive leaf-shape dancing game, a cozy story blanket adventure, and hands-on exploration of tree parts and real animal furs. 🐻🍁

Then, Allison Chavez (Environmental Education Leadership Corps Volunteer) led an interactive tree walk around our campus, teaching us all about our local trees through movement and play! 🏃‍♂️🌲

Huge thanks to our guests for bringing learning to life! 💚

Plastic bags and film packaging are important durable and lightweight protection for food and merchandise in transit. But these materials SHOULD NOT 🚫 be recycled in most curbside carts or single stream programs. Thankfully, many grocers and retailers in Lexington like Kroger, Meijer, and Walmart provide specific collection bins for bags and film to be recycled separately.

🐆Lansdowne is beginning to collect plastic bags and plastic film. We are trying to reach a goal of 250 pounds so that we can enter a drawing to win an item valued at $500.00 that is made of recycled plastic.

🎯Please help us reach our goal by collecting your plastic bags/film and sending them to school with your child. There are 3️⃣ bins around the school where they can drop them off: one bin in the front office, one bin in the cafeteria, and one bin by the front doors where bus riders enter in the morning. We will be collecting plastic bags/film all year long! Thank you for your help! Go GREEN!!!♻️
