THE WIFE OF OUR LOCAL NEWSPAPER EDITOR JUST TOLD ME TO “CRAWL BACK UNDER YOUR ROCK.”

This came after months of the same people accusing ME of “slinging mud.”

You can’t make this stuff up.

For months, The Lexington Progress gave my opponent front-page coverage week after week while people associated with the paper continuously attacked me online.

I ran against an incumbent AND an establishment system.

No campaign staff.
No taxpayer-funded campaign manager.
No newspaper promoting me.
No radio station promoting me.
No Chamber of Commerce promoting me.
No political party promoting me.

NOT ONE DOLLAR IN CAMPAIGN DONATIONS.

I worked my career, operated my businesses, supported my family, and ran my campaign myself.

I didn’t sling mud.

I combated the system while they slang mud through official and fake Facebook accounts and attempted to silence me.

I challenged misinformation.

I demanded transparency.

I exposed what I believe are serious examples of favoritism, misuse of public resources, and downright corruption.

And apparently, asking those questions and pointing these things out made some powerful people very uncomfortable.

The election is over.

But I will not stop asking questions and pointing out the bias, favoritism, and corruption simply because the local establishment would prefer that I disappear.

I’M NOT CRAWLING UNDER A ROCK.

I’M JUST GETTING STARTED.

🇺🇸 PUBLIC OFFICE SHOULD NEVER BE ABOUT POWER, STATUS, OR BENEFITS FOR A SELECT FEW. TODAY, THE FUTURE OF HENDERSON COUNTY IS IN YOUR HANDS.

Throughout this campaign, it has been an honor to meet people from every corner of Henderson County and from every walk of life.

I have listened to your concerns, learned from your experiences, and been reminded that—although we may not always agree—we all deserve to be heard, respected, and equally represented.

I believe in limited government that is beholden to the People.

I believe county government should focus on maintaining our schools, roads, public buildings, emergency services, and infrastructure—not providing special benefits or opportunities to a select few.

My opponent calls himself a Republican, but true conservatism is demonstrated through actions—not campaign labels. More regulation, silencing opposition, and misrepresenting the facts to obtain his desired outcome are not the principles of a true conservative who believes in a limited, transparent government.

We can do better.

Henderson County deserves principled leadership.

A mayor who will listen—even when we disagree.

A mayor who will seek to understand before responding.

A mayor who will explain decisions honestly, manage your tax dollars responsibly, and work with integrity for every citizen.

I have the experience, knowledge, and skill set to deliver meaningful results and build a county government that operates efficiently and effectively for everyone who calls Henderson County home.

Today, I would be deeply honored to have your vote.

Please go to the polls. Call your friends and family. Share this message—and bring someone with you.

Together, we can put the People back in charge of their government.

THIS CAMPAIGN HAS ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT THE PEOPLE.

It is about restoring a Henderson County government that listens before it acts.

A government that carefully manages your tax dollars.

A government that protects your rights instead of restricting them.

A government that respects your property, your freedom, and your right to make decisions for yourself and your family.

I believe in limited government. I believe in fundamental rights. And I believe every public official must remember one fundamental truth:

Government works for you.

Tomorrow, you have the opportunity to help choose the future of Henderson County.

OUR CHILDREN SHOULD NEVER PAY THE PRICE FOR NEGLECTED SCHOOLS OR POLITICAL FAVORITISM.

I have consistently advocated for proper maintenance of our school buildings, enforcement of our insurance policies, and full indemnification when taxpayer-owned property is damaged. We should never accept less than what our policies promise or allow necessary repairs to be delayed.

I also believe Lexington High School and Scotts Hill High School are equally important to the future of Henderson County.

This is not one community against another.

We are one county—and both high schools deserve the opportunity to thrive.

Both deserve equal treatment, strong leadership, and the resources necessary to thrive.

I will not support eliminating either school in favor of one centralized high school. That plan would not meet the practical needs of our families, students, or communities. It simply would not serve our children well.

As County Mayor, I will work to keep both high schools operating and ensure all of our schools are properly maintained—so our teachers can teach, our faculty can serve, and our children can succeed.

Vote Mitchell for Mayor.

Protect our schools. Support our teachers. Invest in our children.

WHEN AN EMERGENCY HAPPENS, HELP MUST BE READY.

One of my main objectives is ensuring that every citizen has quick access to emergency services—whether that means law enforcement, firefighters, or ambulance and medical personnel.

Most of us hope we never need them.

But when that call is made, there is no time for delay—and there is no substitute for trained personnel equipped with reliable tools to perform their jobs effectively and professionally.

That is why I am excited about Tennessee’s Rural Health Transformation Program that is bringing "Better Care, Closer to Home."

Through federal funding flowing to the State of Tennessee and then to eligible rural counties, Henderson County will receive funding for a new ambulance.

I am thankful for the federal investment and for the State’s initiative to strengthen rural emergency medical services.

The county will retain ownership of the ambulance, while Braden Health, LLC—Henderson and Decatur Counties’ ambulance and hospital service provider—will possess and operate it through an executed Use Agreement for the benefit of our citizens.

This is how public funding should work: protecting a public asset, strengthening essential services, and placing reliable equipment where it can save lives.

THE RIGHTS OF THE PEOPLE ARE NOT INCONVENIENCES TO BE MANAGED—THEY ARE LIBERTIES TO BE PROTECTED.

The First Amendment protects five essential freedoms:
1. Freedom of religion
2. Freedom of speech
3. Freedom of the press
4. Freedom of peaceful assembly
5. The right to petition government for a redress of grievances

These rights were not included by accident. They were secured because our Founders understood that government must remain accountable to the People.

The Declaration of Independence itself was a redress of grievances against King George III—principally written by a 33-year-old lawyer named Thomas Jefferson.

Our nation was born because citizens had the courage to question authority, identify wrongdoing, and demand better from their government.

That principle still matters today.

I am running for Henderson County Mayor to restore faith, transparency, and accountability in our local government.

Henderson County deserves a mayor who will protect the rights of the People, welcome public participation, demand accurate public records, and never forget:

Government exists to serve the citizens—not silence them.
