We’re continuing to introduce some of the newest members of our LMS team!
Meet Whitney Adkins, a new Stellar Substitute and Head Girls Basketball Coach at LMS!
Whitney is from Columbia, South Carolina, and attended Emmanuel College. She became an educator because she believes every child deserves someone who sees their potential before they can see it for themselves. She wants to create spaces where students and colleagues feel seen, challenged, and confident in who they can become.
Outside of school, Whitney enjoys playing basketball, spending time with her husband and two children, going to church, and getting some well-earned rest. She is an Atlanta Dream fan, her favorite book is “The Pursuit of God” by A.W. Tozer, and her favorite movie is “Love & Basketball.”
Anywhere with a beach is a favorite destination, and she would love to visit Italy for the cuisine, sightseeing, art, fashion, and slower pace of life. If she weren’t working in education, Whitney says she could see herself as a sleep therapist or basketball trainer.
Her favorite quote comes from John Wooden: “Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out.”

Whitney es de Columbia, Carolina del Sur, y estudió en Emmanuel College. Eligió la educación porque cree que cada estudiante merece a alguien que vea su potencial, incluso antes de que pueda verlo por sí mismo. Quiere crear espacios donde los estudiantes y sus colegas se sientan valorados, desafiados y seguros de lo que pueden llegar a ser.
