Today was one of those particularly busy days that would make someone question.....

Why are you doing all of this?

Simply put, because it matters.

Showing up isn't just for a season, not just for an election, and not for a title. It is about being present for all of the people doing the work to make Harnett County stronger! I am thankful for the many opportunities I have to show up for my community on a regular basis. Partnerships are the backbone of community, and you can't be a good partner from the sidelines. You have to be committed to something bigger than yourself! That's why I don't take this position for granted. My job is to be there, even when it's early, when it's late, when I am busy, and when I am not sure I can fit one more thing into my schedule. I wouldn't trade these busy days, weeks, months for the world! Being present doesn't stop on November 3rd, it's who I am, it's who I've been, and who I will continue to be.

Standing Up for Law Enforcement 💪🏼

I had the privilege of joining Michael Whatley for Senate in Cumberland County last week for his Restoring Law and Order Press Conference. Elections can bring out the ugly in politics, but Michael's stance to support Law and Order across North Carolina is something I support. Law Enforcement, now more than ever, needs to be supported at every level. There are groups who would like to see the end of Law and Order. I see it every day. The deputies are vilified, leadership undermined, and hiring at a stand still. This is why community connection is so important to me. I believe we are missing a critical piece, knowing who protects your neighborhood! It's important to me that our deputies are more than just enforcers, but that they are also protectors, leaders, mentors, and trusted professionals.

One Year! 🫱🏼‍🫲🏾

On this day last year I announced my intention to file and run for Sheriff of Harnett County. Since that day, the support has been overwhelming. Serving the citizens of this County has been, and will continue to be, my top priority. I am grateful for every kind word, handshake, sign location, t-shirt and sticker sighting, donation given, social media engagement, and story shared. I am committed to serving the men and women of this office with the utmost respect, and I am looking forward to the future of the Harnett County Sheriff's Office. Thank you for your support!

Early Voting begins October 15th-31st, and Election Day is November 3rd.

Michael Whatley for Senate is hosting his Restoring Law and Order Press Conference this week in Cumberland County, and I will be there alongside Sheriff Coats. 🫱🏼‍🫲🏾

I am joining him to reinforce his campaign promise to support Law Enforcement. He has specifically highlighted endorsements from organizations such as the NC Fraternal Order of Police, NC Troopers Association, and NC Police Benevolent Association. We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday evening at Honeycutt Farms Creamery! 🍨

Ashley and Curt are known for their excellent staff, outstanding ice cream, and treating everyone like family! They served over 350 people in 2.5 hours and did it all with a smile. We are thankful for everyone making a stop, or two, with us at our Ice-Cream Socials. This has been the best way to beat the heat this summer and get to know the community. November 3rd is fast approaching! Early Voting begins October 15th and runs through October 31st.

We had a crowd join us at Napper Tandy's last week! I always look forward to answering questions and listening to concerns. It's important to me. We will have many opportunities over the next 80 Days to connect!
