As the Logan County Real Eatate Tax due date of Friday, September 1 approaches we would like to remind everyone no taxes are taken at the courthouse. Our office is temporarily relocated to 628 Broadway Street, please use the rear entrance, off the alley behind the library. For a convenient list of additional locations and drop box options please check out the back of your tax bill.

The 2nd installment of our real estate tax is approaching quickly. Due to the Up in Smoke event this weekend most roads around the courthouse will be closed Friday, August 26th and parking will be limited. For some the utilization of our drive up drop box, across from Latham park may be your best option. Also, as a reminder, most banks within Logan County will except payments through September 1. You must have a tax stub. Please go to Logan county I’ll.gov/treasurer to access our online tax payments.

Mobile home tax bills are due June1. You can pay in office or at any of our drop boxes. You can also maiil, the postmark must be June1 or before to avid penalties of $25. please make sure to include your stub and that your check is made out correctly.

The Logan County Treasurers Office is accepting resumes for the position of a Deputy Treasurer. Duties to include, receipting, taking of tax payments, daily and monthly balancing of county finances, assisting with payroll and insurance and any other duties assigned by Treasurer.

Monday - Friday 8:30-4:30. Benefits to include dental, health and life insurance, IMRF, holidays, sick and vacation time. Starting salary $33,000.

The 2022 Mobile Home tax bills were mailed out in late March and due June 1. If you have not received your Mobile Home tax bill please contact our office and we would be happy to email you one.

Due to the impending winter storms the Logan County Courthouse will be closed Wednesday, February 2, 2022.

Payments for the Treasurer’s office may now be placed in the drop boxes on the north and south ramp of the courthouse.

Payments for the Treasurer’s office may now be placed in the drop boxes on the north and south ramp of the courthouse.

The new drop boxes for the Courthouse have been installed! Located on the walkway on Pulaski St and on the ramp on Broadway St! Boxes checked daily, any please questions call the Logan County Courthouse. The Logan County Board would like to give special thanks to Elite Deisgn & Building Contractors for the installation and Small Town Creations for the plaques.

Don’t forget your final tax installment is due Wednesday, September 1. For our taxpayers convenience we have several options for payments.

Pay online with credit or debit card or E check. There is a convenience fee for all.

Drop in our drop box on Kickapoo Stree across from Latham park.

Mail with a Sept 1 or before postmark.

Pay at most banks in Logan County.

Pay in person in our office. At this time mask are required to enter the courthouse.

Friendly reminder…The first installment of real estate taxes are due Monday the 28th. You can pay your taxes at any local participating bank in Logan County, you can mail, use our drop box across from Latham park, pay online at logancountyil.gov/treasurer, or pay in person in our office.

There is construction going on at the courthouse, the East entrance is still open for use.

Our 2020 Payable 2021 tax season is upon us.

Our mobile home tax due date was June 1 st.

Our real estate tax due dates are June 28th and September 1st, 2021.

Our tax bills were mailed May 26th, please contact our office if you did not receive yours.

Payments can be made in person at our office in the courthouse, by mail, the Logan County Treasurer drop box across from Latham park, at most Logan county banks, or online by credit card, debit card, or e check at logancountyil.gov/treasurer.

As our final real estate tax installment 2019 payable 2020 due date of September 1 approaches here are a few reminders and payment options.

The Treasurers office at the courthouse is not accepting in person payments.

In person payments can be made at the John Logan Building Drive thru Monday -Friday. Please have your bill and payment ready.

You can pay by credit, debit or Echeck at logancountyil.gov/ treasurer

Most Logan county banks except payments.

Use the Drop box located on Kickapoo and Latham Street.

You can mail payments. As long as they are postmarked Sept 1 or before they will be considered timely.

If you are wondering why you received a tax bill and not your escrow company it is probably due to the fact that your escrow company receives an electronic file. If this is the case, we send the paper copy to the homeowner for your records.

Tax bills were mailed out on Friday May 29 2020. You should be receiving them this week. We are currently working on getting the 2019 payable 2020 tax amounts online. The payment options remain the same as previous years. You can pay at most Logan County banks, pay online, mail, use our drop box across from Latham park, or drive thru at the John Logan building beginning Wednesday June 3rd. The John Logan building will be a drive through location only. You must have a bill to use this option. We will be answering frequently asked questions soon.

The Logan County Courthouse is open at this time. Our office will remain closed to the public for another week. You can drop your tax payment in the drop box across from Latham park.

March 20, 2020

In response to the COVID-19 situation and recommendations from Federal, State and Local Officials, effective March 23, 2020, Logan County will reduce services and staffing to accommodate essential duties and services only. County buildings will remain open at this time. Hours and services may be limited based on the department. Staffing levels will be reduced to essential personnel only. Please refer to the list below for guidelines. All employees and members of the public are encouraged to practice social distancing, maintaining at least a 6- foot distance between people.

We understand that these reductions are unprecedented, but we feel this is the best way to keep the public and our employees safe during these difficult times. We will continue to reassess this evolving situation daily, and will provide updates to the community.

The Logan County Assessment Office will be operating with limited staff. We ask that if you need assistance from our office that you call 217-732-9635 or email [email protected]. We have closed the office to the public but we will assist you in the drive up window if necessary. We ask that you mail in your exemption renewal forms or postpone bringing them to our office. We will be extending all exemption due dates to July 31, 2020, so there is no hurry to bring them in. If you have questions or need help with forms again, please call for assistance. We will be happy to help you. We hope to make this trying time as safe as possible for you and for us.

In regards to Illinois Supreme Court Order and the 11th Judicial Circuit Administrative Order 2020-06 in response to COVID-19 Emergency, Logan County Circuit Clerk’s Office will remain open with a reduction in staff to handle all statutory duties required of the clerk. Any business that can be conducted without appearing in the building should be handled by mail or phone call. Payment of fines and fees should be paid online at www.judici.com or by mail. Record searches and requests for copies should be addressed in writing with contact information. Please call first to see if you can be helped without appearing in the building. For case information, court date or balances, please check online at www.judici.com

The Logan County Courthouse will remain open to hear emergency cases as outlined in Chief Judge Fellheimer’s Administrative Order and Supplemental Order entered 3-18-2020. These orders can be viewed at the Illinois Supreme Court website at www.illinoiscourts.gov and click COVID-19 updates. All other matters are continued and notice of the new date will be mailed. To schedule an emergency hearing call 217-732-1163.

The Logan County Coroner’s Office will remain open. Please contact the office at 217-732-9322 before entering the office.

County Board (217) 732-6400
As recommended and authorized by Governor’s Executive Order 2020-07, Logan County will postpone consideration of public business where possible. When a meeting is necessary, Logan County will provide access to both County Board Members and members of the public via video, audio, and/or telephonic access. All individuals are encouraged to attend remotely where possible. All information concerning meetings will be posted to the county website at www.logancountyil.gov, and will be provided to all local news media. All questions can be directed to the County Board office at (217) 732-6400.

County Clerk and Recorder – (217) 732-4148
The Logan County Clerk and Recorder’s Office will remain open with limited staff. In an effort to keep everyone safe please call our office at the number above or email [email protected] in advance of coming in person. Individuals may visit our website www.logancountyil.gov, for services that may be obtained from there to avoid coming to the office.

The Highway Department will remain open; however, staffing may be limited. Services will be provided via phone or e-mail whenever possible. Office visits will be available by appointment, if it is deemed essential by the department. Please contact the office by calling (217) 732-3059 or by e-mail at [email protected].

Probation (217) 732-2106
The Logan County Probation Office remains open and will fulfill all statutorily required duties, but has implemented procedures to significantly limit the number of in-person contacts between Probation personnel, probationers and others involved in the Court system. It is requested that anyone in need of assistance from the Probation Office contact them by phone at (217) 732-2106.

State’s Attorney’s Office (217) 732-2184
The Logan County State’s Attorney’s Office remains open with a reduction of staff. The State’s Attorney’s Office remains committed to public safety and will assist with essential services; however, based on the recommendations by health professionals, we request contacting our office by phone as opposed to coming in person. Emergency cases will continue to be heard in the courtrooms as outlined in Chief Judge Mark Fellheimer’s Administrative Order 2020-06 entered March 16, 2020 and the Supplemental Order entered on March 17, 2020. All other matters are continued and notice of the new court dates will be mailed to the address on file with the Circuit Clerk’s Office. Department of Public Health (217) 735-2317
The Logan County Department of Public Health (LCDPH) is ceasing operations of their walk-in services including immunizations indefinitely to reduce the number of people entering the department. Other services that will be postponed are the WIC walk-in clinic, TB testing, lead tests, drug screens, blood pressure and STD checks. WIC will provide “curbside” services. To receive this service, please call (217) 735-2317 ext. 282 upon arrival at LCDPH.

The Logan County Treasurer’s Office will be closed to the public beginning Monday, March 23, 2020. At this time, we are already at limited staff. If in office access is required, please call our office number for an appointment at (217) 732-3761. The public is asked to utilize the postal service or the County Treasurer drop box on North Kickapoo St. for all payments and/or documentation. This would include tax, insurance payments, lease payments, etc. Obtaining drop boxes outside the courthous
e is in progress, we will keep the public updated when those become available. Our 2020 Mobile Home tax bills will be going out, as scheduled, the end of March. Please make all non-check payments by mail or drop box. No payments may be made at the John Logan building at this time. For cash payments please schedule an appointment. As a reminder, all tax information can be obtained on our website at logancountyil.gov/treasurer, you may also check here for payments received. Real Estate tax bills will be out at a later date, yet to be scheduled. For any questions, please contact our office at the above referenced number.

The Zoning Office will remain open; however, services will be provided via phone or email. Email is the preferred way to submit documents and receive permits issued from the office. Where has summer gone? It’s that time again and we just wanted to send out a friendly reminder that your second installment of Logan County Real Estate taxes are due Tuesday, September 3. Please check the back of your bill for our convenient pay options. Remember all payments must be accompanied by a stub from your bill. Mailed tax payments must be postmarked on or before September 3 to avoid penalties.
