U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Division 15 - Arkansas - Heartland District

This July 4th weekend Division 15 members were out in force across central Arkansas. We conducted patrols on the Arkansas River and Lake Hamilton, conducted vessel examinations at Lakes Norrell and Hamilton, dropped off boating safety literature at marine dealers in North Little Rock, and met with Arkansas Game and Fish Game Wardens and a local fire department.

It is with great sadness that we announce that Jan Kelly, one of our long-time and active members has crossed the Great Bar. Her friendship, dedication, and service to our organization will be greatly missed. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones.

Volunteer for the 2026 National Recreational Boating Safety Survey!

Body: The National Recreational Boating Safety Survey (NRBSS) is a nationwide survey sponsored by the U.S. Coast Guard to understand how many people go boating, what types of boats they use, and how often they are on the water. As part of the survey, we are asking for volunteers to complete a brief sign-up page asking about their boating habits and share their contact information with the Coast Guard so a wide range of boaters can be invited to participate in the larger NRBSS survey later in the year.

On August 26, Ellen Sullivan from U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Central Arkansas Flotilla 15-8 and Debbie Blackburn from USCG Auxiliary, Heartland District, Flotilla 15-07 Hot Springs, AR participated in an Arkansas Canoe Club float on the Saline River near Benton to highlight the Auxiliary's AUXPAD program. This program puts Auxiliary members on the water in canoes and kayaks to demonstrate proper use of safety equipment and build relationships with the paddlecraft community to promote recreational boating safety.
