Hog Wild for Honey

Hog Wild for Honey Necrotizing Faciitis becomes a nightmare for our friend - click "About" to read more She was banged up but didn't think it was too bad.

On June 2nd, Honey took a leisurely motorcycle ride and had to attempt to ride off the side of the road to avoid a truck that was passing another vehicle headed straight for her. When she experienced excruciating pain in her knee, she assumed it was just "from the accident" but when she became very ill and passed out into the arms of her son, he called 911 and this nightmare started. She was rushe

d to the local hospital and it was determined that she was suffering from a flesh eating bacteria and a mid-calf amputation was urgently needed. As her condition deteriorated over the next few hours, she was rushed to UAMS and admitted to ICU. It was thought that the initial surgery had gotten all of the infection but no....it returned! On June 21st it was determined that the remainder of her leg needed to come off to avoid the spread of the infection. She came through the surgery like a champ and was moved into a regular room June 26. There's still a long journey ahead! Please research this condition because it is scary to think how easily this could happen to anyone and Honey's mission is to speak out and bring awareness to this condition because time is of the essence when dealing with it.
