π€οΈ Good Morning, Livingston Parish!
We want to emphasize that we're not at a point of alarm, but it is a good time to be aware and stay alert as we continue to monitor a developing system in the eastern Gulf.
The National Hurricane Center is watching Invest 91L, and development chances have increased significantly over the last 24 hours. There is still plenty of uncertainty regarding exactly how strong this system may become and where it will ultimately track, but recent forecast trends have shifted a little farther west, keeping Louisiana in the area that should pay attention.
The good news is that any potential impacts to Louisiana would likely not occur until Tuesday or Wednesday, so there is time to prepare if needed.
Now is a great time to:
β
Review your family emergency plan
β
Check your emergency supplies
β
Make sure you have multiple ways to receive weather alerts
β
Fuel vehicles and generators if needed
β
Stay informed through trusted sources
Remember, preparedness isn't about being worriedβit's about being ready if conditions change.
π‘οΈ Also, don't overlook the heat. Hot and humid conditions will continue over the next few days, so stay hydrated, take frequent breaks if working outdoors, and check on family, friends, and neighbors who may be more vulnerable to the heat.
The Livingston Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is monitoring the situation and will share updates as new information becomes available.
Stay alert, stay aware, and have a plan.
