I enjoyed stopping by this afternoon to support our student-athletes and coaches. It takes some serious toughness to compete in conditions like these.

Game On, Lions! Stay cool and keep swinging! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿฆ๐ŸŽพ

โญ2026 TEA Accountability Ratingsโญ

The ROAR is getting louder! Livingston ISD has received our 2026 state accountability ratings, and our Lions have made tremendous gains!

Livingston ISD: 78, C (+6)
Livingston High School: 78, C (+9)
LHS Academy: 77, C (+6)
Livingston Junior High: 76, C (+9)
Cedar Grove Elementary: 78, C
Creekside Elementary: 78, C (+5)
Timber Creek Elementary: 86, B

Five of our seven reported ratings improved by at least FIVE points, and every LISD campus earned a rating of C or better!

These ratings are based largely on STAAR performance and student growth, as well as measures such as graduation rates and College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR).

We will always believe that our students are much more than a score on a single test on a single day. A state accountability rating cannot measure every talent, every accomplishment, every relationship, or every moment of growth that happens in our schools. But today, we are going to celebrate this progress.

These scores reflect the hard work of our students, teachers, staff, campus leaders, and families. Thank you for believing in our students, raising expectations, and pursuing excellence every single day.

We are not finished. A "C" rating is not our destination. Excellence is.

We are raising the roar. GAME ON! ๐Ÿฆ

As many of you know, we have been looking forward to opening our new Lion Stadium this football season. Today, we received disappointing news regarding the final phase of the project.

The manufacturer of the grandstands informed us today that, due to unforeseen circumstances, they will not be able to complete and deliver the grandstands in time for the 2026 football season. While this is certainly disappointing, we are grateful for the tremendous progress that has been made and remain committed to seeing the project through to completion.

Although we wonโ€™t be playing in the new stadium this season, we are looking forward to another exciting year of Lion football in our current stadium. Our students, coaches, band, cheerleaders, drill team, and fans will continue to make Friday nights something special.

This afternoon, I had the opportunity to visit each of our campuses and see hundreds of smiling faces filled with excitement for the first day of school. It was a great reminder that, while facilities are important, our true purpose has always been our students. Our mission is to ensure every child receives an excellent education every day, and our teachers and staff are eager to welcome students back on Tuesday for what promises to be a fantastic school year.

Thank you for your continued patience, support, and belief in Livingston ISD. Great things are happening, and the best is still ahead!

Yours in Service,

Dr. Jeff Pack
Superintendent of Schools

Yesterday, we kicked off a new season in Livingston ISD with Convocation.

Our 2026-2027 theme is Game On! After seeing the energy, excitement, and passion in the room, there is no doubt that our team is ready.

A big shout-out goes to Jennifer Birdwell and Aubri Alexander for all their hard work on the video, graphics, and other behind-the-scenes efforts to ensure Convocation went off without a hitch!

I would also like to thank First Baptist Church and the Rotary Club of Livingston for hosting us and providing breakfast for our staff.

Convocation was also a reminder of what makes Livingston ISD so special: our people. It was great to see all of our student performances from the Livingston Royal Brigade, LHS Emerald Belles, LHS Cheerleaders, Cameron Ivory, and Brantley Scott. A special thank you goes to Luisa Perez for serving as our emcee.

Weโ€™re proud of the progress weโ€™ve made together, but weโ€™re even more excited about whatโ€™s ahead.

This year, our focus is simple: excellence.

Our students deserve our very best, every single day.

Game On, Lion Country. Letโ€™s make this our best year yet!

One of the greatest measures of a school district is not just what students accomplish while they are with us, but who they become after they leave.

Yesterday at Convocation, our employees had the opportunity to watch Damian share his story and reflect on how Livingston ISD helped shape his journey. His message was about much more than baseball. It was about hard work, perseverance, the impact of great teachers and coaches, and taking advantage of every opportunity.

We are incredibly proud of Damian and grateful that he took the time to encourage our staff as we begin a new school year. His success is a reminder of why we do this work every day. We are helping prepare students not only for graduation, but for whatever dreams they choose to pursue.

Congratulations, Damian! Your Lion family is cheering you on every step of the way.

๐Ÿฆ NEW SCHOOL TIMES FOR 2026-2027!
Game On, Lion Family! ๐ŸŽฎ๐Ÿฆ

Beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, Livingston ISD is adjusting school start and dismissal times:

โฐ Elementary (PK-5): 7:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.
โฐ Secondary (Grades 6-12): 8:00 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.

Research supports later start times for adolescents because they better align with teenagers' sleep patterns and biological needs, thereby supporting student health, alertness, and readiness to learn.

This change also helps Livingston ISD respond proactively to new UIL heat-safety requirements that will significantly limit outdoor practices during periods of high heat. By starting the secondary school day 30 minutes later, outdoor practices can move to the morning, providing an additional 30 minutes of valuable practice time when temperatures and heat stress are typically lower.

It is a smart change that supports student well-being, improves safety, and gives our Lions more opportunities to prepare and compete at a high level.

Game On means we adapt. Game On means we find solutions. Game On means we give our students every opportunity to succeed.

Lions are leaders. Lions win. Game On! ๐Ÿฆ๐ŸŽฎ
