Recently, this candidate had the opportunity to take a day trip to Battle Creek, Michigan. During that trip we stopped by a local downtown Cafe to grab a much needed coffee. While there, I found a rather interesting flyer among other displayed ephemera on their countertop.

The flyer was promoting the screening of the movie hosted by the "Democratic Socialists of America". The film's title "I AM CUBA" which captivated my curiosity. Perhaps you will find it fascinating too.

Here is a quick snapshot of what this movie is about:

"I Am Cuba (Soy Cuba in Spanish) is a 1964 political drama anthology film directed by Soviet filmmaker Mikhail Kalatozov, produced as a co-production between Cuba and the Soviet Union. It was released in Cuba on October 26, 1964, and in the Soviet Union on November 2, 1964."

So basically, this is a post 1959 Cuban Revolution propaganda film, produced in conjunction with the then Soviet Union.

As you can see advertised on the flyer, "All proceeds will be donated to Venceremos Brigade". That should make inquiring minds question, "Who is Venceremos Brigade?"

Well, here is your answer:

"The Venceremos Brigade is a radical-left activist organization founded in 1969 to send Americans to Cuba to perform volunteer labor in solidarity with the Cuban Revolution and oppose U.S. policies toward Cuba."

"The Venceremos Brigade was established in 1969 by members of the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) and other New Left activists in the United States. Its creation was inspired by the Cuban Revolution and Fidel Castro’s call for international support during the 1969 sugar harvest, which aimed to produce 10 million tons of sugar."

"The brigade’s name, "Venceremos," translates to "we shall overcome," reflecting its solidarity and revolutionary ethos. The organization sought to challenge U.S. travel restrictions and the economic embargo against Cuba while promoting anti-imperialist and socialist ideals."

Yes- The DSA is now promoting idealization of Cuban Revolutionaries.

Discerning voters should understand that today's Democratic Socialists of America, AND THEIR CANDIDATES, are not like your father's or grandfather's Democrat.

They are not like Kennedy Democrats. Rather, they are much more like Khrushchev Communists.

As predicted Representative Rashida Tlaib uses every opportunity to stir up and foment further strife instead of acting responsibly with her rhetoric.

Tuesday, August 18, 2026. Today is a big day for Dearborn, MI.

As I am sure that most who follow this page are aware, Mr. Jake Lang has called for & organized what he has titled a 'Crusade' (against "Islamification") to be present in Dearborn today; specifically at the Dearborn City Council meeting.

Truthfully, I had hoped that this potential event would have just fizzled out. Sadly, however, this event has drawn national attention.

As this is taking place in Michigan's 12th Congressional District, the district and the residents who I aspire to represent in Congress, I feel the need to share some of what is on my heart regarding this matter.

Of critical importance is that our Constitution protects these differing perspectives in this matter. The 1st Amendment reads as follows:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

* Freedom of Religion & the Free Exercise thereof
* Freedom of Speech
* Freedom of the Press
* Freedom to Peaceably Assemble
* Freedom to Petition Government over grievances

Which means:
That, while you might not like it, citizens are free to exercise their religion of choice (or no religion).

That citizens may freely speak, even things you find dumb, wrong, distasteful, racist, or even 'hateful'.

That those who report the "News" may do so, and from the perspective that they choose.

That you can gather freely in public to share your perspectives.

That you can challenge your government, Local, State, and Federal over things that you believe are unjust.

And in all of these things doing so PEACEABLY.

Now I see the opportunity for Dearborn to shine brightly. I pray that this opportunity is realized and I pray that the residents in Dearborn greet those who come with misunderstanding or even hate with hospitality and love. I pray that many of those who come have a similar experience as the Bearded Traveling Veteran. This is my experience too. For I have never been treated poorly any time I have gone to Dearborn, or any time I've interacted with those of the Muslim faith.

In 2024 I did heavy door to door canvassing in Dearborn for my campaign. I met wonderful people, and had many, many great conversations with citizens of all faiths-Including Islam.

At each home where I delivered literature, I also delivered an American flag with the following message attached:

“Please accept this flag as a symbol of American pride and patriotism. Honor our nation by displaying it proudly. Join me in valuing our nation’s ideals of Equality, Liberty, & Justice.”

My friends, it is hard for me to express the joy I felt when I returned to those same neighborhoods those days following and seen those very same flags stuck in the doors of homes, or displayed on mailboxes, or on porches. And best of all, in the hands of children.

This is the America I LOVE.

Two final points:

First, I view Mr. Jake Lang as nothing more than an Agent Provocateur.

I disavow him for who he is, a bringer of strife and discord.
He does not speak for me, nor do I believe that he speaks for Christians or Christ.
He does not represent me or my Christian faith.
He does not represent my Conservative values.
He does not represent my views as a Republican.

And despite that I find the man grossly offensive, I defend his right to express himself-PEACEABLY. And likewise, in return, he has the right to his personal safety in all of his offensive grossness, from being assaulted.

Second, my opponent, Representative Rashida Tlaib, the "Gentle Lady from Detroit" as I like to reference her.

She is known for being a radical activist. Even her Democratic opponents have called her out as being a radical activist and not a legislator. One whose toxic rhetoric stirs up radical behavior in others.

I expect her to utilize this matter to once again do "Activist s**t" for her own benefit and her own grandstanding. I urge Representative Tlaib to tone down her rhetoric and not further foment strife in this district and in America.

Last Thursday, July 30th, "Planned Parenthood" announced the closure of three of their clinics, including one in the community of Livonia where my wife and I reside.

I can only imagine that this occurrence could further a sense of helplessness, or desperation in women and men who are facing an unplanned pregnancy or have considered abortion as an option.

My wife and I have supported AAAPRC for many years through their annual fundraising banquet and other methods & means. They 100% serve men and women with LOVE, COMPASSION, and NONJUDGEMENTAL resources-- And that is what this post is about-- A resource for those may feel hurt, confused, or lost at the closure of PP here in Livonia.

On the day that Planned Parenthood closed here in Livonia I reached out to the Director at AAAPRC, whom I know personally, asking her thoughts in light of that happening.

Here is her response: "Today, we learned that Planned Parenthood has closed its doors in Livonia.

This changes the landscape of pregnancy services in our community; it does not change our mission.

At AAA Pregnancy Resource Center, we continue to serve women and men facing unexpected pregnancies with compassion, truthful information, and practical support. We believe every life has inherent value, and every client deserves the opportunity to make an informed decision after thoughtfully considering all their options."

Remember friends, LIFE is incredibly valuable; yours, your loved ones, and children in the womb.

The U.S. House voted 418-2 to honor fallen law enforcement officers through H.Res. 1252 during National Police Week.

Every Michigan Democrat and Republican voted YES — except Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who voted NO to honoring those who lost their lives in the line of duty.

POAM believes honoring officers who made the ultimate sacrifice should never, ever become political.

While in Washington, D.C. during Police Week, POAM continued meeting with lawmakers from both parties to advocate for active and retired law enforcement officers, first responders, and their families.

Why would anyone vote against honoring fallen officers?
