There’s not been many moments since January 28th that aren’t filled with thoughts of my brother. One in particular seems to stand out though. It wasn’t just me and my family that lost him. No, my big brother’s existence was much more powerful than that. His reach is much bigger, far greater, and highly regarded by quite literally hundreds of people. How special is that? That someone could hold such significance to so many, yet be so humble. Not even those closest to him could fathom the impact he had on so many lives— but I suppose that’s where we can find beauty in the profound sadness of his loss. Whether it’s his own family, friends that became family, people he met through his love of the outdoors, or his military brothers and sisters. If Cody was a part of your life, he made it better in some way or another.
My brother is, was, and will forever be an exceptional human. His kindness, leadership, his intelligence, humor, his heart, motivation, his perfectly crooked smile; I could go on and on about my love and admiration. I always felt so fortunate to have him to look up to. Cody is my hero and I’m forever honored to be his sister. Moving forward without him will undoubtedly be the most difficult thing I’ll ever have to do. I know I can speak for countless others who can say the same.
So I’m making this page for him. As much as he would hate it, he deserves to be celebrated for the exceptional man he is. And nothing would make me happier than for his legacy to live on in every way imaginable. Please share this page. Share any memories you have of Cody. Any stories, photos, everything is welcome. If you’ve gotten a tattoo or a bracelet in his honor, drop a photo of it or if you’ve placed it somewhere special. Let’s see and hear it all. For Cody 🪽
