“America’s Stairway” is a new documentary that shines a national spotlight on Lockport’s iconic Flight of Five locks that helped shape America’s growth, tourism, and identity. Through stunning visuals and powerful storytelling, "America’s Stairway" connects our local heritage to the larger American narrative, proving that great moments in history often begin in small towns.

Come see this inspiring film about the Erie Canal for yourself, right here at the Kenan Center's Taylor Theatre. Showing Thursday, October 16th, at 7pm.

Here is an aerial photograph taken by Dick Gallagher 25 years ago! You can see Carlisle Gardens, De Sales, Cold Spring Cemetery, and the Erie Canal, with Day Road in the distance.
There are many photographs by Dick Gallagher in the collection and he includes a detailed description on the back of each photo. Here is a project for one of you--I am looking for someone to transcribe his descriptions. You would look at the image, then type what is written into a word processor. This can all be done remotely with an internet connection. If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to Jean at [email protected] or message through this Facebook account.
