Today, Detective Cameron Verrier was formally recognized as the New Hampshire American Legion’s 2025 Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. Detective Verrier was honored during the American Legion’s annual summit.

The New Hampshire American Legion Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award is presented annually to recognize exceptional service, professionalism, and dedication within the law enforcement profession. The award is administered by the Jeremy Charron Law Enforcement American Legion Post 122, an organization composed of both veterans and current and former law enforcement officers. Named in honor of Epsom Police Officer Jeremy Charron, who was killed in the line of duty while displaying extraordinary courage and dedication, the award reflects the values of service, sacrifice, and commitment to community.

Detective Verrier received this award for his outstanding work as the department’s juvenile detective. In this role, he handles some of the department’s most difficult cases involving our most vulnerable victims. Specifically, he was recognized for his work on two s*xual assault investigations—one involving a known s*x offender and another in which a juvenile was kidnapped and transported across state lines.

Throughout these investigations, Detective Verrier remained dedicated to seeking justice for the victims while treating them with compassion and professionalism.

Thank you to the American Legion for recognizing Detective Verrier’s hard work and dedication.

Keep up the outstanding work, Detective Verrier, and thank you for your continued dedication to the Town of Londonderry.

This week, the Londonderry Police Department joins law enforcement agencies across the nation in recognizing National Police Week — a time of remembrance, reflection, and gratitude.

Established in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy, National Police Week honors the brave men and women of law enforcement, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others. What began more than 60 years ago has grown into one of the most significant annual observances in policing.

Today, more than 24,000 fallen officers are memorialized at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. Behind every name is a story of courage, dedication, and selfless service.

National Police Week is also an opportunity to recognize the officers who continue to serve their communities each day — answering calls for help, protecting others in times of crisis, and standing committed to public safety.

The Londonderry Police Department proudly honors the memory of the fallen and extends our deepest gratitude to all law enforcement officers, past and present, who have worn the badge with honor.

Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

The Londonderry Police Department would like to help raise awareness about the New Hampshire Blue Envelope Program. This is a voluntary program designed to support safer and more effective communication during traffic stops for drivers who may have Autism Spectrum Disorder or trauma/stress-related disorders.

The Blue Envelope is a simple tool that allows drivers to keep important driving documents together while also optionally sharing communication preferences, sensory considerations, emergency contact information, or notes that may help officers better understand their needs and support clearer communication during traffic stops.

Participation in the program is completely voluntary, and the envelope does not identify or display a specific medical diagnosis.

Blue Envelopes are currently available through New Hampshire DMV locations for eligible individuals. The State is also working to expand access to the program in the near future for additional residents who may benefit from it.

For more information about the Blue Envelope Program or eligibility requirements, please contact the New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles.

Together, awareness and understanding help strengthen positive community interactions!

As we head into the spring season, we want to make the community aware of a game commonly played by high school juniors known as “Assassins.”

In this game, students are assigned a “target” and attempt to eliminate them using a sq**rt gun. While intended to be fun, this activity is not school-sanctioned and is not permitted during school hours.

Because the game takes place off school grounds, participants often attempt to locate their targets at homes, workplaces, or other public and private locations.

As the game ramps up, we start receiving calls for service related to this activity, including reports of suspicious behavior, prowling, and trespassing. In many cases, individuals are seen walking around properties carrying what appears to be a firearm, which can understandably cause alarm for neighbors and lead to emergency responses.

We ask parents and guardians to speak with their children about the potential risks associated with this game. It is especially important they understand:

• The dangers of carrying items that could be mistaken for real fi****ms

• The importance of respecting private property and avoiding trespassing

• How their actions may be perceived by others in the community

While most participants have no harmful intent, these situations can quickly escalate and create unnecessary fear or risk.

Here is our suggestion if you’re playing: Super Soaker 50

If you can get your hands on the iconic Super Soaker 50, it’s an absolute must have. Invented by an Air Force and NASA engineer it unleashed pure domination in the 90’s during sq**rt gun fights. No fancy tech, just water in a high-pressure chamber. Check around and see if you can dig one up, guarantee it still works 30+ years later.

Have fun and be safe!
