We are exited to introduce our 2025 FALEO-Los Angeles challenge coin!
Features the Historic Filipinotown monument sign, United States Flag and Philippine Sun on the front. While the back displays "Bayanihan" is a Filipino term that means communal unity and cooperation, derived from the word "bayan," which refers to a town or community. It often describes the spirit of helping one another, especially in times of need.
"Fraternal relationships" refer to the strong bonds of affection and loyalty shared among brothers/sisters, often characterized by deep emotional connections and mutual support.
The Filipino bolo knife symbolizes resilience, identity, and resistance, particularly among farmers and revolutionaries. It represents the spirit of the Filipino people, serving as both a practical tool for agriculture and a weapon of defiance throughout history.
In Filipino Arnis, the stick symbolizes both a weapon for self-defense and a cultural heritage representing the Filipino people's history and resilience. The use of sticks in training emphasizes the importance of discipline, skill, and the connection to traditional martial arts practices.
