I have made the decision to seek another term representing the people of Cowlitz County. My principles have not changed. I believe the primary role of government is to protect your individual rights and freedoms. What does that look like in action. My top two: 1. Leave your money in your wallet. I have opposed every suggestion of a tax increase on the public, and have been successful. 2. No new restrictions on property rights. I have opposed any attempt to implement new restrictions or conditions on what you can do with your property. I have been successful in amending or blocking any such action at the county level.
If you believe citizens should be the driver of government, like I do, then please consider a donation to,

Hard to show the beauty of Idaho around my place with pictures. Really needs to be seen. The bridge is a stock/hiking bridge over the NF Clearwater to some primo looking single track. Neighbor says motorcycles used to be allowed, but no longer of course. Did make me think of being an outlaw! 😂

Read the legislative brief below on SB5068. Not sure non citizens having law enforcement authority over citizens is a good road to travel. 🤔

Senate Bill 5068 (SB 5068) is a legislative proposal in Washington State aimed at expanding employment eligibility for certain public safety positions. Specifically, the bill seeks to allow all United States citizens and individuals legally authorized to work in the U.S. under federal law to be employed as firefighters, prosecutors, and general or limited authority law enforcement officers. This would include lawful permanent residents, DACA recipients, visa holders, and non-citizen U.S. nationals.

The bill was prefiled for introduction on December 16, 2024, and referred to the Senate Committee on Law & Justice on January 13, 2025. It passed the Senate with a unanimous vote of 49-0 on February 5, 2025, and is currently under consideration in the House, having been placed on second reading by the Rules Committee on March 25, 2025.

Supporters of SB 5068 argue that it could help address staffing shortages in law enforcement agencies across Washington. The Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC) has expressed support for the bill, noting that all applicants, regardless of citizenship status, must meet existing qualifications, including passing extensive background checks, psychological evaluations, and completing the Basic Law Enforcement Academy. WASPC emphasizes that nothing in the current law or SB 5068 requires agencies to hire non-citizens over citizens.

However, some officials have voiced opposition. Pierce County Sheriff Keith Swank, for instance, has stated he will not hire non-U.S. citizens, expressing concerns about the vetting process for applicants from foreign countries.

It’s also worth noting that SB 5068 has been used for different legislative purposes in prior sessions. In the 2021-2022 session, for example, SB 5068 focused on improving maternal health outcomes by extending postpartum coverage.

As the bill progresses through the legislative process, it continues to generate discussion regarding employment eligibility criteria for public safety positions in Washington State

Whenever I see the main stream media screeching the same message, and the leftest members of Congress doing the howling monkey routine, you know it is political. Charlie Kirk sums it up well.

‘Wise men wrote the constitution, but clever judges have been destroying it, bit by bit, turning it into an instrument of arbitrary judicial power, instead of a limitation on all government power.’
-Thomas Sewell

Our judicial system is broken. Adjudication is not based on constitutional principles, but on political agenda principles. Fully on display now as the establishment garbage in Washington D.C. is being uncovered.

Hard to understand why those working in this industry are so compliant with the evil?

Steve Ferrell is my pick for Cowlitz County Commissioner, District 2.
Steve believes in citizen led government, not government led citizens.
Steve is an honest and open person about his beliefs and ideas. He does not hide behind half truths and deceptive language.
Steve understands government’s are funded by you, from your wallet, and will treat financial decisions with respect.
I support Steve Ferrell for Cowlitz County Commissioner, District 2, and ask that you do also.

I have good expectations for this. We gave some funds to complete this project, which I do not take lightly when it is really your money. I believe helping these kids stay on the right path now will pay us back later. I pray my instinct is right on this. Time will tell.

The zealous over control by a State agency killing this project is mind numbing. 😡 They would prefer we continue to burn off this gas rather than capture and use for energy in sufficient amounts to power roughly 4000 households in Cowlitz County.
I will be looking at any avenues I have available to bring some common sense here. Something the State and their power hungry agencies have none of.
