I’m incredibly grateful and humbled to have been recognized by the Greater Albuquerque Chamber for several efforts during this legislative session, including work on public safety legislation (SB3 Harm to Self & others), medical malpractice reform floor debate, and efforts to restrict cell phones from classrooms.

The recognition that means the most to me was receiving the ⭐️“People Over Politics”⭐️award. That honor carries special significance because I truly believe the people of New Mexico expect us to work together, find common ground where we can, and focus on solutions that improve lives — regardless of political party.

I was sent to Santa Fe to represent Republicans, Democrats, and Independents alike, and I’m proud to approach this job with that responsibility in mind.

I could not help but reflect on the example set by my predecessor, the late Senator John Arthur Smith, who understood that good policy and doing right by New Mexicans mattered more than political theater. I’m proud to uphold those senate dist 35 values today.

Honored to serve as the speaker at the Socorro Memorial Day Ceremony today. More than 1 million Americans have died defending our freedom — a freedom that came at an extraordinary cost. Today, we honor their service and sacrifice. 🇺🇸

New Mexico Proud! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Congratulations to former Aggie & the first Navajo to play NFL—Shiyazh Pete—signing with the Dallas Cowboys!! It was a joy watching you at Aggie Stadium, but we can’t wait to see you at AT&T Stadium!

Pete stood out — not just because of his massive size, but because of his calm demeanor and genuine respect for others. I even had the opportunity to host Pete and his supportive family at the Roundhouse as we celebrated his success under Coach Kill. He’s humble, hardworking, and the kind of young man who deserves every bit of the recognition coming his way!

Shiyazh Pete just signed with the Dallas Cowboys — and became the first man from the Navajo Nation in the entire history of the NFL.But what most fans don't ...

Over 200 members make up Hot Springs FFA — a powerhouse youth leadership organization in a small town. This week, we celebrated their success at the annual banquet and the bright future they represent for New Mexico agriculture and rural communities.

Special thanks to keynote speaker Salina Madrid, who shared her story of leaving a successful news career to pursue a new dream with the Las Cruces Police Department. Her message about hard work and chasing new opportunities was one these students will remember.

I'm honored to serve as the keynote speaker at the Commencement ceremony for the Early College High School Deming.

These graduates are not typical high school seniors. Many have already overcome extraordinary hurdles — economic hardship, language barriers, and the challenge of being first-generation college students. Roughly half of this graduating class is walking across the stage with a college degree already in hand. That is remarkable! They are overachievers in every sense of the word, even if they may not fully see it yet.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026. Your story is already inspiring.

🏆Awesome news! New Mexicos very own Trent Boone was recognized nationally as Special Agent of the Year! Congratulations to Trent and his wonderful family- well deserved!! 🇺🇸
Bureau of Land Management - New Mexico

Congratulations to Special Agent Trent Boone from the BLM-NM Pecos District Office! The BLM just named him the 2025 BLM Special Agent of the Year.

In New Mexico and Texas, Boone has built a reputation for taking on difficult, high-stakes investigations and seeing them through. In 2025, his work targeted major criminal activity impacting public lands and disrupted critical infrastructure, including crude oil theft operations, fi****ms violations, and threats against federal employees. Through steady leadership and close coordination with federal, state, and local partners, Boone helped dismantle large-scale theft networks tied to millions of dollars in losses, protecting both industry resources and American taxpayers.

Of all the rights and opportunities women have been given, motherhood remains the greatest privilege of all. Of all the work I will ever do in this life, being a mother will always be the most important. Titles come and go, but raising good children & keeping a safe, supportive home is the work that truly shapes the future.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the women doing the work that matters most. 🤍

The federal government just sued New Mexico…and they’re right to.

Governor Lujan Grisham and AG Torrez pushed House Bill 9 through this session knowing it violated the Supremacy Clause. Now New Mexico taxpayers are on the hook to defend it in court.

HB 9 doesn’t just block federal immigration enforcement it puts Otero County jobs at risk, jeopardizes public safety partnerships that have worked for decades, and turns local government into a shield for people who have broken the law.

I opposed this bill on the Senate floor and I’ll say it again: New Mexico does not have the authority to nullify federal law. The Constitution is clear. The courts will be, too.

New Mexicans deserve a state government that works with law enforcement — not against it.

The United States has filed a complaint and motion for preliminary injunction against the State of New Mexico, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, New Mexico Attorney General Raul Torrez, the City of Albuquerque, and Albuquerque Mayor Timothy Keller, alleging that the implementation of House...
