I’m incredibly grateful and humbled to have been recognized by the Greater Albuquerque Chamber for several efforts during this legislative session, including work on public safety legislation (SB3 Harm to Self & others), medical malpractice reform floor debate, and efforts to restrict cell phones from classrooms.
The recognition that means the most to me was receiving the ⭐️“People Over Politics”⭐️award. That honor carries special significance because I truly believe the people of New Mexico expect us to work together, find common ground where we can, and focus on solutions that improve lives — regardless of political party.
I was sent to Santa Fe to represent Republicans, Democrats, and Independents alike, and I’m proud to approach this job with that responsibility in mind.
I could not help but reflect on the example set by my predecessor, the late Senator John Arthur Smith, who understood that good policy and doing right by New Mexicans mattered more than political theater. I’m proud to uphold those senate dist 35 values today.
