Los Altos Mayor Sally Meadows attended the 6th grade’s Intersession Trade Show where she learned about how BCS learners use their passions and interests to create products and services that affect change in our community.
Mayor Meadows said, “I'm super impressed at the framework that they're all following. It takes a combination of creativity, vision, and practicality to make this happen. It's really fun to see the thought that's gone into these projects. I never got to do this type of work at their age. It's very impressive.”
Thanks, Mayor Meadows for joining us!

TK-8th graders from across Silicon Valley joined BCS learners at the annual Maker Faire last Saturday. 110 student-designed projects were on display at our North Campus. So great to see so many local families join us for the day. We opened up the MakerSpace and Fab Lab for all kinds of fun, interactive activities. “Design thinking is integral to the curriculum and programming at Bullis Charter School,” says Elika Fredrickson, Chief of Academics and Educational Services. “The annual Maker Faire gives us the opportunity to open our doors to the larger community, spark creativity, and enable local students to design projects that excite them. We’re thrilled to host this event every spring.”

We’re celebrating our nation’s 250th birthday here at BCS 🇺🇸. Our 5th graders showcased life during the American Revolution through project-based learning, prompted with the question: How do we, as artists and historians, bring to life the experiences of diverse people living through the American Revolution? Learners designed interactive experiences using coding to create touch-activated displays with audio explanations and Did you know… comparison between 2026 and 1776 to help visitors make clear connections between the past and the present. Job well done, 5th graders! Happy Birthday USA 🥳

Welcome back to North Campus, BCS Alumna, Adrita Mittra, now a sophomore at Los Altos High School. Adrita is teaching a co-curricular class alongside Mr. Cheng in the Maker Space. Co-curriculars are unique classes designed for elementary students by our teachers and sometimes BCS alums, like Adrita. “I cherished my time during co-curriculars in the Maker Space growing up,” Adrita tell us. “Now, I want to give back to the community.”

This class uses CoCo, an innovative coding platform for kids designed at the MIT Media Labs “Witnessing the students’ excitement as they bring their ideas to life reinforces my desire to make a meaningful impact in their lives.” Thanks, Adrita, for all you’re doing for our learners!
