Dear 44th Legislative District Precinct Committee Officer,
Snohomish County is facing unprecedented growth, causing our communities to change. This trend has been happening for some time, but over the last several years the change has become increasingly clear. The face of Snohomish County is changing and we need to ensure that diverse representation continues to remain in Snohomish County. The 44th LD has had some of the most diverse representation and at the Snohomish Ebony Political Action Committee (SEPAC) we believe that the 44th Legislative District should continue to lead in this way.
We are reaching out as the political arm of the African American community in Snohomish County. We created SEPAC at the beginning of 2020 to teach and support African American political candidates, in an effort to create diverse representation throughout Snohomish County’s elected offices. In 2021 we provided support at a time when Snohomish County had the most African American candidates seeking office. One of those candidates was Brandy Donaghy and we are reaching out to do everything we can to urge your vote in support of Brandy as she seeks to fill the 44th Legislative District House of Representatives vacancy in position 1.
Over the years, we have seen Brandy’s dedication to all communities throughout Snohomish County. She has served in several volunteer positions including with the Snohomish County Democrats, The American Red Cross, NAACP Snohomish County, at her local church, and in many other capacities. In her volunteerism, Brandy has shown that she will do whatever it takes to make sure all people are considered when policies are being made, and resources are being allocated. She’s demonstrated this time and time again, and we believe that she will make the 44th Legislative District proud as an appointee to the Washington Legislature.
Lastly, Brandy ran a large-scale campaign against an incumbent for the Snohomish County Council. Her experience reaching out to voters across Snohomish County should be commended, and a testament to her hard work and ability to bring people together for a better community for us all. It should be noted that whoever receives the appointment for the seat, they will need to run to retain the seat in the coming election. We believe Brandy can win her election, and with your support, our support, and the support of so many others, Brandy can continue to represent the residents of the 44th LD with integrity, intelligence, and inclusion.
