MAY: One in Christ’s CHARACTER

Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. (Ephesians 5:1)

To call ourselves Christians is one thing, to be called Christians is another. It means being recognized by others as Christians. It means that we are being true to our label, that we are living out the testimony, that we are reflecting Christ’s character.

So more than just telling the world about Christ, let us show them. Through our actions and reactions, through our choices and priorities, through our way of life, may the people around us indeed see that Christ is in us.

With the uncertainty of our current situation, one of the greatest commodity of today is hope--hope that a vaccine will be developed... hope that the number of cases would stop growing... hope that those who tested positive would recover... hope that the economy would recover... hope that we will all survive and get through this pandemic... and hope that we will grow stronger as individuals, as families, as communities, as nations, as human beings.

As people who have found the One Source of hope: Jesus Christ, let us be the first to say #iHope.

“Jesus answered him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one goes to the Father except by me.” - ‭‭John‬ ‭14:6‬

“But He endured the suffering that should have been ours, the pain that we should have borne. All the while we thought that his suffering was punishment sent by God. But because of our sins He was wounded, beaten because of the evil we did. We are healed by the punishment He suffered, made whole by the blows He received.” - ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53:4-5‬ ‭

Accepting JESUS as our Lord and Savior is the only way to be saved and the only way for us to break free from any kind of curses!

JIL WUSA Tuesday Prayer Meeting attended by more than 227 Pastors, Coordinators, Leaders and Workers!

During tonight’s Night of Power, we heard a clear presentation of the end times as taught to us by our Director, Ptr Cris Jose. It certainly was the word for the season!

We also heard anointed testimonies after the prayer time:

-Sis Jovel Angeles, JIL Riverside Coordinator: her co-worker and her 5 year-old child stayed at their house for a brief moment. Unknown to them, her co-worker was infected by COVID-19. After that, Sis Jovel also got sick but after being tested, she was negative, praise God!

-Jill Tagalog, JIL Texas: she is a nurse and she got assigned to patients with COVID-19. She praises the Lord for the protection and for the opportunity to pray for their healing and to be able to comfort them in their time of distress.

-Sis Ruth Dadia, JIL Phoenix Coordinator: she praises God for the opportunity of the church to give I-Care packages to families. This gave them a chance to share the Word of God and encourage many families.

-Katrina Nazaire, JIL Las Vegas: she is a medical assistant and while working, she got infected by COVID-19 but glory to God, last Monday, she was already tested negative, praise God for the healing!

All glory to God for what He has done and for what He will still do! 🙏🏼

Hospitals are growing full, medical personnel are growing tired, food and health supplies are getting scarce, mass gatherings are being prohibited, businesses are being closed, countries are being locked down, and economies are going down.

In the midst of all these, be the one who sees hope—even when the situation seems otherwise. Be the one who spreads hope—for the worried, the frightened, the anxious. Be the one who points to the One Source of hope, Jesus Christ.

In short, be the one who says #iHope.

At 5:50pm today, we have lost a spiritual mother, a competent teacher, a prayer warrior, and a model of faith. After going through fatal arrhythmia secondary to septic shock, Ate Dory is now resting in the arms of her Maker and Savior. She is now face to face with the God she served all these years, true to the words of St. Paul, “For to me to live is Christ, to die is gain (Philippians 1:21).”

So, sorrowful as we may be, we are immensely grateful to God for our Ate Dory, and for the time we had with her. We are grateful that in her 73 years on earth, our lives collided with her, affecting and influencing us in ways we never would forget.

MARCH: One in Christ’s MIND
You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. (Ephesians 4:22-24)
Several thoughts cross our minds every single day, with one study claiming the number to be around 70,000. While that number is staggering enough, more than the number of thoughts, what is important is the quality of our thoughts. Because all those 70,000 thoughts are hidden from men. No one sees our thoughts. We may easily say one thing, but think another.
So, as people who are one in Christ, let our innermost thoughts be aligned with Christ’s. Let us choose thoughts that are right and pure over thoughts that are wrong and evil. Because what we think is who we are.

FEBRUARY: One in Christ’s HEART
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. (John 13:34-35)

If we would follow the trail of Jesus’ footsteps, these are what we would see: from heaven to earth... towards the sick, the poor, the weak, and the outcast... among the vilest of sinners... all the way to the Cross, to Calvary, to the grave.

Why? Because Jesus’ heart beats for souls. To the point of leaving heaven and becoming like man… to the point of taking the sins of humankind and with that, the wrath of the Father… to the point of going through the agony of the crucifixion and succumbing to the hands of death—just so we could be reconciled to the Father.

If such is the depth and extent of Jesus’ heart for souls, how about ours? If we claim to be one in Christ, do our hearts also beat for souls? Up to what extent? Are we willing to be inconvenienced by others? To sacrifice for others?

January 2020 Theme: ONE in CHRIST's Vision
.
Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths."

We all have our goals and dreams, bucket lists and to-do lists, envisioned life and future. Those are well and good, but have we stopped to think if those are what the Lord wants for us?
Before we plan for the year, let us first consider His plans. Because while our plans are good, His is perfect. Besides, none of us has a view of what lies ahead; Jesus does. And not only does He sees the future, He holds it.
