A major milestone for the Assessor’s Office and a proud moment for our entire team!

At the 39th Annual Los Angeles County Productivity and Quality Awards, our Assessor Modernization Project (AMP) received the Commission Special Award for Process Improvement, recognizing years of innovation that have fundamentally transformed how we serve Los Angeles County.

From replacing decades old paper processes with modern technology to expanding online services, improving assessment accuracy, and accelerating property tax relief for wildfire survivors, AMP has made our Office more efficient, accessible, and responsive to the needs of property owners.

It was a pleasure to join Supervisor Hilda L. Solis and County leadership in celebrating this achievement.

Last night, I sailed away to address the Marina Del Rey Rotary Club at their monthly meeting. We had great discussions on assessments, property tax savings, and explained how our work helps keeps funding of vital public services on course. I am grateful for the Rotary Club’s hospitality and for not going overboard with their questions! Thank you and I look forward to the next step of our partnership.

Great to join the Palos Verdes Peninsula Chamber of Commerce for its Annual Legislative Breakfast and a timely conversation about the issues affecting the Peninsula and the greater South Bay.
I appreciated the opportunity to share updates from my Office alongside Congressman Ted Lieu, Senator Ben Allen, Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi, and representatives.
Thank you to the Chamber for bringing local, state, federal, and County leaders together and for making sure the Peninsula’s residents and businesses have a seat at the table.

I’m excited to celebrate the opening of our new North District public service counter at the Castaic Library and bring Assessor services closer to property owners in the community. This new satellite office gives residents a convenient place to ask questions, get assistance and connect directly with our team. I’m grateful to the local leaders and community partners who helped make this possible, and I look forward to continuing to find ways to better serve the community. If you ever need assistance, the satellite office is open every Monday and Friday from 10 AM - 5 PM.

I was honored to serve as a keynote speaker at the Crenshaw Chamber Foundation's Inaugural Legacy Brunch, where we celebrated the Foundation's launch and recognized four incredible community leaders : Kevin G. Harbour Sr., Jacqueline Dupont-Walker, Cheryal Kearney, and Fran Jemmott. Congratulations to Chamber President JC Lacey and Foundation President Armen Ross for bringing to life this impactful investment in the community.

Mt. San Antonio College is now taking applications for the Ownership Services Technician Fall Session. This is a free six-week vocational training course offered by Mt. SAC School of Continuing Education which prepares students for careers in property ownership analysis, change-in-ownership determinations, and with the Los Angeles County Assessor’s Office.

Meet Natalie, one of our Ownership Services Technician I's who took this online course hosted by Mt. San Antonio College. She joined to broaden her knowledge and learn more about how ownership transfers impact property taxes. She encourages everyone to participate to prepare for life events that may lead to ownership changes.

I had the pleasure of meeting with members of the Rosemead Chamber of Commerce at IHOP, where I shared valuable resources like our Homeowner Alert Service, along with the latest local data on property values and regional economic trends. I also highlighted how our office is modernizing public services through the Assessor’s Modernization Project, streamlining processes and expanding online access so property owners can connect with us and submit forms more easily. It was a great opportunity to strengthen partnerships and keep our local businesses informed!

A forever home is always better with a furever friend!

We’re excited to announce that, in partnership with County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control, we’ll be hosting dog adoptions at our Homeowners’ Resource Fair this Saturday, September 19, in Van Nuys.

Come out to learn about Prop. 19, property transfers, property tax savings, ADUs, and more, and while you’re here, you might just meet your new best friend.
