COSLA Arleta-Pacoima

COSLA Arleta-Pacoima Greening open space has proven beneficial impacts on localities including social enrichment and individual and community health.

COSLA is spearheaded by the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, and is part of a collaborative endeavor with a number of non-profit and community organizations to help increase green open space in Arleta- Pacoima and four other neighborhoods. deavor with a number of non-profit and community organizations to help increase the health and livability of communities across the city. This project will bring together local stakeholders to gather the urban open space needs and wants of the community and create the Arleta/Pacoima Open Space Visioning Plan. Our aim is to garner feedback on what types of urban space typologies local communities have expressed interest in, including pocket parks, farmers markets, green alleyways, parklets, street greening, and more. We are currently facilitating meetings with the community and organized groups around the neighborhood so please contact us on how to share your thoughts and priorities for urban open space in your community. We recommend that you start by taking the online survey at www.surveymonkey.com/s/pacoimaenglish. We are also initiating similar projects in downtown Los Angeles, Wilmington, Boyle Heights, and South East Los Angeles so feel free to follow those projects.
