A tiny crack appears… and a new life begins. 🥹🩷

From the first movement inside the egg to the moment a fragile gray chick finally emerges, every stage of a flamingo’s beginning is remarkable.

The newborn arrives wet, weak, and exhausted. Its parent remains close beside the raised mud nest, watching and protecting it while the chick slowly dries, lifts its tiny head, and begins discovering the world around it.

Flamingos usually lay a single egg, and both parents can take part in incubation and caring for their chick. The familiar curved flamingo bill also develops with age — newborn chicks begin life with a much straighter little bill.

One tiny egg.
One first breath.
One beautiful beginning. 🦩🤍
