We'd all like to be in the home stretch from the COVID-19 pandemic, and there are 2 great ways you can help that happen.

First, you can take a saliva-based COVID test at home, for free. New Mexico's reopening schedule is based on counties' positivity rates. Most people who are tested for COVID do so because they suspect they have COVID or have been exposed, which leads to a high rate of positive results. The more negative results we get back, the lower our positivity rate will be, and the sooner we can start to see more of our businesses and schools reopen. You can order a kit to be sent to your home at vaulthealth.com.

Second, you can register now at cvvaccine.nmhealth.org for your COVID vaccine. Vaccines are available to New Mexicans in phases, and registering right away will help to make sure that you get your vaccine as soon as it is available to your phase.

CONFUSION ABOUT HOLIDAY TRASH PICK UP IN 2021 VILLAGE CALENDAR:

Many of our residents have pointed out that our new 2021 calendars do not list our holiday garbage pick up days the same as in previous years. When the regular garbage pick up day is on a Village holiday, garbage is picked up on the nearest business day to that holiday. Please be assured that those holiday pick ups are all shown on the correct dates in the 2021 calendar. When we reprint our 2021 calendars, we will adjust them back to the more typical wording.

We apologize for the confusion. If you have any questions about our garbage collection, you can always contact our Solid Waste Division at 839-5658.

And if you would like a Village calendar, stop by Village Hall to pick one up!

ATTENTION LOS LUNAS RESIDENTS:

If you have not responded to the 2020 Census, you have until 4:00 am on Friday, October 16 to respond! New Mexico is just over 1,000 households away from a complete count - if you are one of those households, now is your last chance!

Respond online by 3:59am on October 16, by phone no later than October 15, and ensure paper responses are postmarked no later than October 15.

The U.S. Census Bureau has announced its plan to stop all enumeration efforts by midnight on Thursday, October 15. This announcement is in response to the U.S. Supreme Court suspension of the temporary injunction that had kept the count in the 2020 Census going.

We deserve to be counted!

Just want to give a suggestion. This morning my neighborhood in Huning Ranch was overtaken by traffic back up. It took me 45 minutes to drive from my house to La Vida Felicidad, my husband and I are essential workers and we werw headed into work. Park Ranchers were directing traffic. We thought it was an accident but an hour later when we ventured out to get to work it was apparent it was a food pick up. I am all for food pick ups in this time of need however it would have helped tremendously if there were signs for thru traffic and or Park Ranchers directed thru traffic to Main street and the ones picking up food be directed in another line. Thank you
I see that Belen and surrounding areas are keeping their communities updated almost on a daily bases. I am having a hard time finding anything on the Village of Los Lunas. Can someone point me in the right direction for what is going on?
Is the recycling center open?
Good evening New Mexico ! All Schools have been shut down as you know due to the Coronavirus threats. I have been trying to think of something that I can do as a business owner to help our my community. Impact Martial Arts & Fitness stands by our Moto. "Making an IMPACT on our Community and Families." We know that this is going to make things hard on so many families that have nowhere to take your children. We would like to offer a solution. IMAF is offering a safe place to bring your kids to spend the time out. Each child will only cost $25.00 per day from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. You will need to bring Lunch and a roll of TP as there is none to buy anywhere. Our staff is well trained and will be able to provide a fun filled day that will keep them busy and entertained. Please call ASAP to reserve your Childs place. You will need to cover the first day cost to hold your childs splace. We have already had people signing up and space is limited. You can call 505-318-6803 We are located at: 3469 Main Street SE You will need to cover the first day cost to hold your childs space. We have already had people signing up and space is limited.
We have all been seeing the violence on the news and the horrific sights of people being attacked. FREE Self Defense Class, August 17th @ 5:00 pm! Don’t let this happen in our town! SPACES ARE FILLING FAST!!! Register at www.impactmafitness.com
In case anyone is interested the long awaited extension of Morris Rd 🛣🚗 🏚to Camelot 🛣🚗 is now open!
Does anyone know why Desert Flower and Heaton Loop are blocked off in Carson Park? We seen emergency vehicle's at the water treatment plant last night and this morning they put barriers in front of our house to block the road.
Remembering Sal Artiaga, baseball pioneer and Los Lunas native.
I want to thank the Village of Los Lunas for providing a recycling program to their residents. I have just recently been using this facility and it is great! I really hope the Village continues this program even though there are residents who are not following the rules; i.e.: dumping the entire trash bag in with the recyclables.
