The Black Hill Gang The Black Hill Gang is volunteers doing trail maintenance in central coast state parks. Send us a Messenger message to join. Wear a hat and work gloves.

On work days come dressed for hiking. Wear sturdy boots, long sleeves and pants. Wear a small pack with enough water and perhaps a snack to get you through the morning. Apply DEET to keep ticks and mosquitoes away. Ticks are ever present. Mosquitoes are situational. There are lots around the Morro Bay Golf Course and Black Hill. Tools will be provided.

Trail Maintenance

The Black Hill Gang is a non-profit organization which gets together on Friday mornings to do trail maintenance. We primarily work in Montana de Oro State Park. However Morro Bay State Park, Harmony Headlands State Park and other areas under the jurisdiction of Central Coast Parks Association are included. New volunteers are welcome.
