Congratulations on the Opening of the Tanasi Lakeside Restaurant and Golf Shop
The Tellico Village Volunteer Fire Department congratulates the POA on the opening of the new Tanasi Lakeside Restaurant and Golf Shop. We especially thank the POA Board and Leadership Team, including Matt Benoit and Caleb Morris, for working closely with the Fire Department to incorporate advanced fire-detection and protection systems throughout the facility.
The state-of-the-art alarm system helps ensure that an emergency is quickly detected and reported. Its annunciator panel identifies the specific location of an alarm, allowing firefighters to respond directly to the affected area without having to interpret system codes.
The golf cart storage area includes both fire and gas-detection systems designed to identify potential battery-charging problems before they become more serious. These systems provide an important additional layer of protection in an area where multiple
golf carts are stored and charged.
The entire building - including the attic - is protected by an automatic sprinkler system. If a fire occurs, the system can help contain or even extinguish it before it spreads.
A new 10-inch water main provides an adequate water supply for the building’s sprinkler system and for firefighting operations, if needed. It also supports multiple fire hydrants around the property, a significant improvement over the single hydrant located at the entrance to the former facility.
Although the risk of fire can never be completely eliminated, it can be substantially reduced through modern detection and protection systems, adequate water supply, and careful planning. We appreciate the POA’s commitment to making fire safety a priority throughout the design and construction of this beautiful new facility.
