From Arabic courses to classical Islamic studies, our community is striving to provide a variety of alternatives for American Muslims seeking traditional knowledge. Unlike any other program, HIRA was created entirely for you - the Youth. Come spend a few life-changing weeks with an array of scholars and other talented youth to build a stronger understanding of your religion and discover new skills to implement all that you have learned in your personal life and greater community.

For some students (and RAs), 3 weeks wasn't enough, so we signed up for MYNA SNR and attended only 2 days after HIRA ended. No matter where we go, HIRA kids have a special brotherhood and sisterhood that will forever bond us. Alhamdillah #catchthesnap

Alhamdillah for an amazing 3 weeks. We laughed, we cried, and we took 5 min naps in between. From roaming the streets of Chicago to making hour long group duaas, the bonds of sisterhood and brotherhood that were formed at this HIRA are ones that will last a lifetime. We left feeling spiritually rejuvenated and ready to tackle whatever life brings our way with Allah's support.
The success of HIRA is very dependent on the individuals who attend. Without a doubt, the group of sincere students and dedicated resident advisors are what made this HIRA so special. Jazakallahkhair to all the parents that trusted us with their kids and to everyone who made duaa and donated to contribute to our program.

Today we wrapped up our week on social justice and intersectionality with a MYNA pioneer, Dr. Maliha Chishti. She challenged us with a fun yarn activity to think about how different aspects of our faith and activism relate, while sharing amazing stories from her life and her work serving the ummah. Jazakallahkhair Sister Maliha for a profound and engaging afternoon!

Yesterday HIRA hit the south side of Chicago and visited historical Islamic sites around town, including the Oriental Institute and Masjid Al Faatir, a mosque founded by Muhammad Ali. Alhamdillah!! After a long week of classes and getting into routine, HIRA students hit the road to take a break by spending the day in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We visited a beautiful park and had dinner at the lake.
To end our day, we had the honor and privilege of hearing sister Janan Najeeb talk about her inspiring work with Islamic Resource Center and Milwaukee Muslim Women's Coalition. We were amazed to hear how a small women's organization, evolved into an amazing resource for the greater Milwaukee community.
Yesterday we concluded with our lessons on Quranic Sciences with Ust Ismail Ibn Ali. Before he wrapped up his last class, he wrote his phone number and email on the board and told the students to contact him anytime if they ever needed anything.

With a more intimate topic, we sat down in a circle to create a more intimate setting.
