George Gress, Victoria Opthof-Cordaro, and Tom Roney are united on a platform to bring positive change to Lower Saucon Township Council. Residents deserve fire protection from highly trained volunteer fire companies which foster community engagement and keep taxes low. Without our volunteer fire companies residents safety is jeopardized. The alternative of a paid fire rescue force would cost much
more taxpayer dollars and erode the wonderful community atmosphere created through volunteerism in our fire rescue squads. Opthof-Cordaro, Gress, and Roney will provide the necessary support of our fire rescue organizations to ensure safety and proper funding that will keep taxes low.
2. Ensure proper oversight of the Bethlehem Landfill located in Lower Saucon Township. All residents deserve to breath fresh air and enjoy their backyards without odorous pollutants and litter invading their neighborhood. Township Council does not employ professional oversight of landfill activity and has removed safeguards for the steel city and surrounding communities. Gress, Opthof-Cordaro, and Roney will bring back professional consultants and engagement of council to ensure all residents quality of life is protected.
3. Protect our natural resources while promoting responsible development. Township residents enjoy living in a community which prioritizes open spaces, parks, scenic walkways and trails, and the rolling hillside of Lower Saucon Township. Gress, Opthof-Cordaro, and Roney will ensure future development and expansion support our rural nature rich community.
4. Foster community participation and council professionalism. Our township should be represented by residents who value constructive dialogue between residents and council members in a respectful environment. Gress, Opthof-Cordaro, and Roney will restore respectful dialogue and foster community engagement in township business.
