🚔💍***LOST RINGS***💍🚔

Do you recognize the below rings? They were turned in to our Property Room back in 2017 and we would love to be able to reunite them with their rightful owners.

There are two different angles of each ring. The first is a men's Texas Tech class ring from 1947. The second is a woman's Lubbock High class ring from 1946. The third is a Woman's Texas Tech class ring from 1949.

If you recognize any of these, please call (806) 775-3383. There are some unique markings on each ring that will help in the identifying process. So, be prepared to answer a detailed question, or two.

Ok, Lubbock, do your thing so we can get these rings back where they belong!

Thanks to Grace Gates for taking a closer look at what it takes to become a Lubbock Police Officer and highlighting the physical fitness portion of our entrance exam.

One question we hear from time to time is, “When is a police officer ever going to need to row?”

Our answer: Get on a rower for a few minutes and go as hard as you can. You’ll understand pretty quickly. The rower isn’t about preparing officers to row a boat. It’s a way to measure cardiovascular fitness and a person’s ability to keep working when they’re tired, something that matters in this profession.

Interested in seeing if you have what it takes? We’re hiring. Applications for our September 14th test will open soon!

🚨***DO NOT PASS GO. DO NOT COLLECT $200. GO STRAIGHT TO JAIL. ***🚨

It’s Thursday and we’ve gone nearly the whole week without a snarky Facebook post. So, buckle up, because have we got some sass to share this morning.

Some people play Monopoly.

Others apparently like to roll the dice when it comes to your life and theirs. I.e. the motorcyclist who thought it was a solid idea to travel 143 MPH on Loop 88 this morning.

Spoiler alert: it wasn’t.

Let’s clarify something - that’s not “keeping up with traffic”, or “running a little late”, that’s absolutely insane.

The result?

Straight to jail. đźš”

When you choose to drive at speeds like this, you’re not just risking a ticket. You’re risking your life and the lives of everyone else on the road.

Moral of the story? Drive smart and ride safely.
