The fire risk is still elevated today. It looks like it will stay elevated for the next several days as it's going to get hotter and windier, which means it will get drier. So if you absolutely have to burn do it safely, which means burn between 6p-6a, stay with the fire until it's burnt out, and extinguish the embers.

REMINDER that there is no open burning during the months of March, April, May, October, and November from 6a-6p.
There is an Elevated fire risk today so it would be wise to just not burn at any time.

It's with heavy hearts that we report the passing of Walt Arnold the first chief of our fire department. Walt was instrumental in founding our department and getting it up and running. Our condolences go out to his family.

Please be careful in heating your homes during this stretch of Arctic temperatures. Do not plug space heaters into power strips or extension cords. Make sure that there is nothing that will burn within 3 feet of a space heater. Do not overload your wood burners.
Also, make sure that your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are functioning properly.

We want to give a shout out to the Morgan Township road crew for the great job they have done in making the township roads passable. They've worked hard the last 24 hours and we appreciate it.

If you do not have to venture out onto the roads tonight we ask that you stay home and be safe. The roads are snow covered and icy. If you do have to travel drive SLOW.
