11/03/2026 General & Special Election: Ballot Order has been determined by lot for statewide and/or federal offices. Local order was determined by filing date & time. A full list of candidates and proposed constitutional amendments (referenda) is available on ELECT's website. The local lists specific to Lunenburg is on the "Upcoming Elections" portion of our Registrar website. Research and prepare your voting plan now!

The Voter Participation Center will once again be reaching out to Virginia residents with a direct mailing and digital ads to encourage registration and voting. We will continue to work hard and remain worthy of public trust in our Lunenburg elections, but cannot be responsible for what others advertise or publish. Our advice to voters is always, "Trust but verify" especially if it is election specific rather than general voter registration support.

The State Board of Elections is meeting at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18th to certify the results of the August 4th Primary. Also on the agenda will be a drawing for political party ballot order for the November 3rd General & Special Elections.

The Virginia Department of Elections has ACCEPTED our Abstract of Votes in both the Democratic and Republican primaries of August 4th after their second look at available data. We appreciate the voters who participated in the 08/04 Dual Primary getting us to a respectable 17% turnout (compared to 15% in 2024, our last dual primary). We are very proud of the hard work done by the Lunenburg team of election officials working Election Day and the Central Absentee Precinct (early voting, mailed absentee, post-election) in conducting another successful election. We will continue our professional development and training efforts to remain worthy of the public's trust in the administration of federal, state, and local elections here in Lunenburg County.

The Lunenburg County Electoral Board ("EB") completed its Canvass of the August 4th Dual-Party Primary yesterday afternoon ahead of the 8/14 deadline to do so. All unofficial results have been confirmed as accurately reported by the precincts with the EB's verification of the machine tapes and other official paperwork.

Prepared Abstract of Votes for both the Democratic and Republican contests have been provided to the Virginia Department of Elections for review. Certified copies are also being provided to the two state political parties, congressional district chairs, Lunenburg Circuit Court Clerk, and County Administration for the Lunenburg Board of Supervisors. The original will remain part of the permanent files here in the Office of Elections/Voter Registration Office.
