I will never forget your kindness!" --Lyle neighbor who is very concerned about fire risk at their home considering their physical limitations. Lyle Neighbor2Neighbor was able to connect the neighbor in need with a few neighbors to get the yard ship shape, reducing fire risk, and explore a plan to maintain the space moving forward.

What a day - And we aren't talking about the weather!

Today from 2-4:30p, 8 neighbors volunteered to lend a hand to 4 Lyle households, all with limited mobility. We removed concerning bushes and a woodpile up against a home and found a Lyle family in need to deliver the firewood to as wood is their sole source of heat. We started tackling yardwork for 2 other households with disabilities to reduce fire risk and get to a place where another generous neighbor can assist with maintenance moving forward. We had 8 eager volunteers who got to meet new neighbors and catch up with known neighbors (& share eggs & morels!). This is what community looks like!

APR 22 - YARD WORK VOLUNTEERS 2p-4:30p

We have an opportunity Wednesday to do some yard work for two disabled neighbors in "downtown Lyle". Two able bodied folks from the LDS Church with w**d eaters will be there and are looking for some additional helping hands!

If you have an hour (or more) to help rake, tidy up, drive your truck for a dump run, etc. - Come join the fun! If you want to bring some nice cold water by and/or a little snack, that would be appreciated too. Please reply on messenger or call/text 509-906-1402 for details. Our efforts connect community members and makes Lyle safer for all by reducing fire fuel and risks, and we have a lot of fun!

Good Morning Neighbors! We have an opportunity Wed, April 22nd to do some yard work for two local disabled persons in "downtown Lyle". We will have the added help of two able bodied young men from the LDS Church with w**d eaters! If you have an hour or more to help rake, tidy up etc. Or want to bring some nice cold water by and a little snack, or have a pick up truck to do a run to the transfer station. We encourage folks who live in the Lyle School District to reach out if they are struggling to address their basic needs. We are a group of creative problem solvers who are hopeful to connect neighbors with neighbors (& existing resources).

Since launching, we have :
✨Averted eviction for limited mobility neighbors by connecting volunteers to provide lawncare
✨Delivered food for those unable to pick-up during food bank hours
✨Organized moving help for a neighbor with limited mobility
✨Removed a truckload of trash from the river
✨Connected neighbors in need of transportation with rides
✨And more!

I cannot begin to explain it." -Lyle neighbor who was concerned about eviction after physically being unable to maintain their rental home yard, post surgery. Lyle Neighbor2Neighbor was able to connect the neighbor in need with a few neighbors to get the yard ship shape and make a plan for the tenant to maintain the space moving forward.
