Hundreds of Lynchburg residents rely on the bus every day. Public transit is essential infrastructure—but rising costs and an uncertain funding landscape are putting real pressure on the system.

Lynchburg Better Together candidates recently sat down with Greater Lynchburg Transit Company (GLTC) professional leadership to better understand those challenges and what it will take to protect reliable, accessible service.

The answer starts with a stronger partnership between GLTC and City Council—and a shared long-term vision for transit.

Lynchburg needs a strong, long-term partnership between GLTC and City Council, grounded in regular communication, responsible funding decisions, and a shared vision for reliable and accessible transit. Together, we can ensure that our transit system continues adapting to meet the needs of workers, students, seniors, people with disabilities, employers, and the entire community.

It’s a new day in Lynchburg—and we’re waking up with renewed hope, energy, and determination.

Congratulations to Tom Perriello on winning the Democratic primary for Virginia’s 5th Congressional District.

Tom has been a strong supporter of Lynchburg Better Together and our City Council candidates. He has met with our candidates on multiple occasions, joined us on the doors to canvass, and made clear that winning Lynchburg’s City Council races is an essential part of the broader plan to win this congressional district.

Between now and November 3, Lynchburg Better Together will be working closely with Tom’s campaign on a tightly coordinated effort to reach voters, strengthen turnout, and elect leaders who will fight for Lynchburg at every level of government.

And the celebration starts tonight. Join Tom, Lynchburg Better Together, and the Lynchburg Democratic Committee for a happy hour celebrating this victory—and preparing for the work ahead.

Enough spectacle. Lynchburg needs serious leadership.

Nat Marshall, Dave Henderson, and Christina Delzingaro are running to focus City Council on the basics: strong schools, affordable housing, smart economic development, good-paying jobs, and responsible budgeting.

This election is our opportunity to move Lynchburg forward with competence, collaboration, and respect.

Early voting begins September 18.

Do you rent in Lynchburg? City Council candidates Christina Delzingaro, Dave Henderson, and Nat Marshall want to hear from you.

Join Lynchburg Better Together for a virtual listening session focused on renters’ experiences in our city.

We want to hear what renting in Lynchburg is really like: what is working, what is not, and what city leaders need to understand about housing costs, repairs, leases, property taxes, tenant concerns, and the path to homeownership.

This is not a lecture or a campaign speech. It is a chance for renters to share directly with candidates who are listening.

Discussion topics may include:

• What has your rental experience been like?
• Have recent tax cuts helped lower your housing costs?
• What concerns do you have about rent, repairs, leases, or housing stability?
• Do you hope to buy a home? What stands in the way?

Whether you rent an apartment, house, room, or duplex, your experience matters. Help us better understand what Lynchburg renters are facing and what kind of leadership our city needs.

Virtual Listening Session
Wednesday, August 12
6:00–7:30 PM

RSVP and invite a renter you know.

Young people want to be seen, heard, respected, and included in decisions that shape Lynchburg’s future.

On July 12, Lynchburg Better Together candidates gathered with young people ages 14–20 for a listening session about what it means to grow up, study, work, and build a future in Lynchburg.

They talked about public schools, downtown, the arts, outdoor spaces, faith and inclusion, youth voice, trust in local government, and what makes young people feel connected — or disconnected — from the city around them.

What we heard was clear: Lynchburg’s young people love this city, but they also want more from it. They want leaders who show up, listen directly, build trust through action, and create a city where every young person has a place to belong and a reason to stay.

A stronger Lynchburg starts with practical priorities.

Reliable city services. Safe, connected neighborhoods. A growing local economy. More opportunity for every resident. Accountability and collaboration at City Hall.

That is what Christina Delzingaro, Nat Marshall, and Dave Henderson are fighting for.

Meet Paul. 👋

He loves Lynchburg’s generosity, beauty, and sense of community.

Paul said it clearly: Lynchburg is a wonderful place to live, but we need to do better by our schools. That means the political will to invest where it matters — in teachers, programs, and the students who will shape our city’s future.

Lynchburg is Better Together. 💙

The future of Lynchburg is on the ballot.

Dave Henderson for Lynchburg City Council is focused on what matters: stronger schools, thriving neighborhoods, local businesses, and a city where the next generation wants to stay, work, and build a life.

Voting is how we shape what comes next.
