Lynnfield Cultural Council The Lynnfield Cultural Council is a group of local volunteers that are appointed by the Town Select Board. The 2026 grant cycle opens on September 1st.

Our mission is to distribute annual funding from Mass Cultural Council. What is a Local Cultural Council Program? The Local Cultural Council Program (LCC), of which Lynnfield is a participant, is the most extensive system of grassroots support for the arts, sciences and humanities in the nation. The councils dristribute grant monies to support cultural activities in citieis and towns in the states

. These annual grants are for individuals, private non profit organizations, schools, libraries and other public agencies. Each year, the Lynnfield Cultural Council receives funds from the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) and re-grants these funds to schools, organizaitons and individuals in the community. Did you know the Lynnfield Cultural Council funded these programs? Past recipients include:
“Concerts on The Common”
“Singing & Signing” – a musical series incorporating singing and sign language held at \ at the Lynnfield Public Library
“Secrets to Being Social” – an anti-bullying program for Huckleberry School
“Historical Perspectives” – for Summer Street School
“Photographic Journey of India” hosted at Lynnfield Public Library
“Pied Pottery Demo” –live reenactment of pottery making in the 1900s on the Common
“Meet Julia Childs” – a theatrical performance held at the Senior Center

We are proud to fully fund this FY26 program!

Join us for Eat the Rainbow with Windy Pham on Monday, May 11th at 3:30 PM on the Library Mezzanine. Come on a colorful adventure where kids get to learn, taste and touch different fruits and vegetables around the world. This fun, hands-on workshop includes an interactive storytime, crafts and food tasting. This program encourages healthy eating, cultural curiosity, and the joy of “eating the rainbow” For Ages 6+ | Registration is required. Tonight! We are proud to fully fund this library program.

Tomorrow night, Veteran Arts Journalist Nick Zanio will be presenting, The 80s Comedy Boom: A Boston Comedy History, which follows the development of the first full-time comedy clubs in Boston and shows off several clips of comedians from the era, including Steven Wright, Paula Poundstone, Lenny Clarke, Lauren Dombrowski, Tony V, Mike McDonald, and many others.
