What a fun day!!! Celebrating Ms. Mary’s 95th Birthday!!! Happy Birthday Queen Mary!!! We also did some fishing as that’s her favorite hobby.

SRM had a busy week!!! Tuesday we painted watermelon slices, played Wheel of Fortune with watermelon related puzzles and of course enjoyed ice cold melon for snack. Thursday we celebrated Friends Day by making more than 50 cards for Forest Hills Shut Ins Ministry. That was a lot of work!!! We sang hymns of praise and enjoyed Name That Tune with songs about friends. We love working and playing together at SRM!!!

Today we made up for the rainout of our water pistol painting from last week! Terrific artists!!!! We enjoyed dirt and worms for National Chocolate Pudding Day, made up summertime words, sang hymns, and enjoyed chair dancercise! It was a fun day at SRM!!!

Sanctuary Respite Ministry combined the celebration of National Iced Tea Day (June 10) and National Corn on the Cob Day (June 11) into one fun day! As always we began our day with a devotional and prayer for our special loved ones and friends. Then we completed a word search all about corn on the cob. That was quick work!!! Onto rhythm sticks and scarf exercises with Miss Laurie. Our snack was none other than fresh corn on the cob right out of the shucks with plenty of butter, a little salt, and a glass of sweet iced tea. Barkley and Pat visited us. Then we enjoyed singing and Chapel on Proverbs 3 with Pastor Jeremy. We finished the day with a few corny jokes and corn hole. The Corn Kernels team won the day. We loved sharing memories about gathering fresh corn, enjoying corn from our childhoods, and sharing what we like to eat with it. Fun day!!!

This is a new project that Miss Forget Me Not will be supporting this year, in addition to The Alzheimer’s Association and Sanctuary Respite Ministry.

We are so excited to have this innovative garden coming to Middle Georgia. Gardens and flowers brought my Mom so much peace and joy throughout her life, I know this Wellness Garden will touch so many lives.💐💐

Open String Initiative plays for SRM

SRM received a blessing!!! Three amazing Mercer University music students, all from Alberta, Canada who make up Open Strings Initiative played a mini concert for us today. Playing the cello, viola, and violin these talented young people dazzled us with perfect string music of Bach, Motzart, and many other classical composers. One of our favorites was Moon River. The concert was coordinated by local musician Gloria Gardner-Thank You Gloria!!!!
