We again had the honor of putting out flags for the Naturalization Ceremony at the Federal Court in Macon GA. The country received 17 new citizens from 11 countries, Mexico, Peru, Honduras, China, Philippines, India, South Korea, Thailand, France, Nepal and Columbia. The rewarding part of this is watching the new citizens and their families take pictures around the flags and enjoying their new status as citizens of the United States of America.

Yesterday, April 9, we again had the privilege to honor new citizens of the United States by surrounding the Middle Georgia Federal Court with American flags. The weather cooperated perfectly with enough wind for the flags to unfurl. 22 people from 15 countries made their oath and said their first pledge of allegiance as citizens of the United States. For many it has been a long and for some a stressful journey, however the smiles and hugs among them and family and friends and Judge Tilman Self, the journey was worth it. Their new journey as citizens has just begun. In talking to some of our new citizens, our advice was "This is your country. Take care of it."

Today Flags of Honor was blessed to be invited once again to participate in the Natualization Ceremony at the United States District Court Middle Georgia District in Macon, GA. We put out flags around the courthouse and celebrate and welcome the 22 new citizens of our country. They came from 15 countries, Vietnam, South Korea, India, Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Trinidad and Tobago, El Salvador, Nigeria, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Laos, Columbia and Philippines.

The day was beautiful and the wind was just enough for the flags to fly. After the ceremony the Daughters of the American REvolution and the Macon Town Committee of the National Society of the Colonial Games of America had a reception for everyone. As the families of our newest citizens were leaving, many stopped to get pictures by the flags.

As always. it is an honor and blessing to be a small part of this happy day for these people. It takes several years for someone to become an American citizen, so this day is extra special for these people.

Once again we were honored to supply flags for the Knight of Columbus who hosted its annual Walter A Corley, Jr. Memorial First Responders Recognition Luncheon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The event honors local law enforcement, fire fighters and EMTs who serve in the Middle Georgia community.

Many and sincere thanks to the men of the Knights of Columbus who came and hammered stakes into the ground, set up flags outside and inside where the luncheon was held. Thank you gentlemen! Special thank to Scott Ostrow for bringing the flags back and taking these photos for us.

Yesterday we were honored in helping a Marine veteran fulfill his dream of one last ride. Dean served in Desert Storm. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 bone cancer. He loves riding bikes and loves his biker brothers and sisters and wanted one last ride. His friends got together and organized a ride in his honor to the VFW Post 6605 in Warner Robins. We were honored to set up a static line of flags to welcome him and after that many of his friends made a flagline to usher him into the post where everyone would enjoy pizza donated by CowPie Pizza Co and a day of love and friendship. Donna House Owen's granddaughters, Bree & Brylee, set up a lemonade stand in front of the post. To see a lemonade stand was one of his wishes and it happened!

We were honored to be a part of the beautiful celebration for Dean, Kandy and their friends. Pray for this couple for strength.

Once again we were honored to be invited to the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia in Macon to help honor 30 of our newest citizens. They are from 20 countries: Uganda, Australia, Jamaica, Honduras, India, Thailand, Haiti, Cameroon, Brazil, Vietnam, Columbia, South Korea, Mexico, Northern Ireland, Russia, Cuba, Sri Lanka, Guatemala, Guyana and Eritrea (East Africa). We thank Judge Marc Treadwell for allowing us to put out American flags around the courthouse. For many of these people, it has been a long journey of many years to finally be able to say the Pledge of Allegiance as an American citizen. Some of our new citizens agreed to hold a photo of Marine Cpl. Coty Sockalosky who served in Afghanistan and paid the ultimate price for us.
