With your help... At the time of crisis, we organized over 80 volunteers to help homeowners clear out debris. We provided supplies and helped feed neighborhoods that lost kitchens and power. Since then, we have provided hundreds of physical items to people who lost everything and are rebuilding. Just this week, we delivered a new coffee table, a Home Depot gift card, and other supplies to Mike, a local we recently learned about who had lost his job and housing during Helene and had been living homeless until now. We have given out thousands of $50-75 gift cards to home improvement, home furnishings, pharmacy, and food stores since Helene. We have also purchased $5 gift cards to hard-hit local businesses that we give out to encourage people to shop and visit these local beach communities. We have supported local community fundraisers, cleanup, and restoration efforts. Our quarterly mini grants have helped fund individual home repairs, meals in hard-hit communities, SSBC park repairs, subsidizing small businesses like The Spice & Tea Exchange of John's Pass to supply ice teas to beach cleanup efforts, and funding the reopening of the McLauchlan's MadBch Little Free Library on May 9th. With your help, we are still going strong... Barrier Island Strong πͺ. There is still so much we can do together! Our next mini grant applications are due on June 30th.
