Please consider supporting Madison Village Police Department by voting YES on May 2nd for a replacement police levy. This is a 5.18 mill levy which would cost $181 per year for a $100K property. If passed, this would REPLACE the 3.8 mill permanent levy that was passed in 2014 which cost $133 on a $100K property at the time.

As everyone in the Village knows, there has been major growth since 2014. The PD has had to grow along with that. The old levy brought in around $240K per year since its passage. The replacement would bring in around $450K. This levy will help maintain our current levels of police service as we move into the future!

PLEASE VOTE YES ON ISSUE 1 ON MAY 2, 2023!

Thank you - The Madison Village Patrol Officer Association

Tonight, Village Council responded to overwhelming public support shown for its Village Police Department and unanimously voted down both pieces of legislation dealing with dissolving the MVPD and entering into a contract with Madison Township for police services.

Council suspended the third reading of the legislation and brought them to a vote tonight. Council voted 6-0 to defeat both Ordinance 7-2016 & 8-2016.

The members of the Village Patrolmen's Association sincerely thank the community for their support. We look forward to continuing to serve the citizens of Madison Village!

THANK YOU!! to everyone that came out for tonight's Village Council meeting. It was standing room only, and overflowed into the lobby. Every speaker from the audience strongly supported our local police department and expressed their concerns about the decrease in safety and service that would occur without it. Questions were raised by both citizens and council members concerning the legality of disbanding the department, accuracy of financial figures, inability to use police levy funds for other than their legally stated purposes, and more.

We appreciate everyone that took the time to come out tonight to support our police department and their community. Please continue to make your voices heard on this important issue. The next council meeting is March 7 at 6:30, immediately followed by a public hearing to discuss the issue. Thank you again!
