Rebate checks are officially hitting mailboxes and bank accounts across Georgia.

We’re putting money back into the pockets of hardworking Georgians. This was a major priority for me this session and throughout my time as Lieutenant Governor.

Thank you to Governor Brian Kemp for his continued partnership delivering meaningful tax relief for Georgia families.

On May 13, 2026, a 22 year-old Morgan County man, Rashawn Richard Sorrell-Tomblin, pleaded guilty to one count of R**e, two counts of Child Molestation, and eight counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child and was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole by Superior Court Judge Terry Massey. Sorrell-Tomblin was convicted for committing offenses against a child who was less than one-year old at the time of the offenses. Given the nature of the offenses, it will be at least thirty (30) years before Sorrell-Tomblin will be eligible for parole.

This case was investigated by Special Agent Ethan Brown of the GBI, who was assisted by officers of the Morgan County Sherriff’s Office, and this case was prosecuted by ADA Stephen Morris, Victim Advocate Makenzie Whitley, and Legal Assistant Kelly Calandra.

Today we’re celebrating two very special work anniversaries in the Superior Court Clerk’s Office!

One team member, Lori Arnold is marking her very first year with us, while another, Kristy Lynn Britt is celebrating an incredible 19 years of dedicated service.

Whether it’s one year or nineteen, each team member plays an important role in serving our community and helping our office run smoothly every single day. We are thankful for their hard work, loyalty, and commitment to our team and to the citizens we serve.

Congratulations on your work anniversaries — we appreciate you both more than words can say! 🎉

I am honored to be chosen by my peers to receive The 2026 Stetson F. Bennett Superior Court Clerk of the Year Award for Georgia’s Judicial District 8.

The Stetson F. Bennett Award was established in 1985 in honor of longtime Clerk of Court Stetson F. Bennett Jr., a respected figure in Georgia’s legal community. The award recognizes Clerks of Superior Court who exemplify professionalism, integrity, and dedication to public service.

Thank you to my fellow clerks for this honor!

Thank you, Morgan County, for your constant support and belief in me as your Clerk!

Thank you to my awesome staff for making sure my day was celebrated! I am blessed with the best!

Please join us in officially welcoming our newest “Deputy Dog,” Charmaghne Johnson! 🐾

Charmaghne has actually been part of our team since January, but yesterday she was officially sworn in as a Deputy Clerk—and we couldn’t be more excited to have her in this role. She lives in the Buckhead area with her husband, Alan, and their two children.

Now, if you notice the bright, handmade badge proudly displayed on her shirt… that’s no accident. Around here, being dubbed a “Deputy Dog” is a time-honored tradition that’s been going strong for over 20 years. It’s our way of welcoming new deputies into the pack—with a little humor, a lot of pride, and a reminder that while the work we do is serious, we believe in enjoying the journey and supporting one another along the way.

Welcome to the pack, Charmaghne—we’re glad you’re here! 🐾
