Thank you again to the VFW for coming out last week to celebrate Wisconsin Act 154, which I authored, to help homeless veterans. With the signing Wisconsin is sending a clear message to the veterans of our state, that we stand with you and will work to help those who are struggling. Because of the leadership and support of the State VFW, we were able to get this bill across the finish line and into law.

I voted for the No Tax on Tips legislation twice this session. This important change would have positive impact on the financial well-being of so many working people in the 88th Assembly District. I hope the Governor will call us back into special session again to get this deal done for our area.

In the budget I supported, I was able to increase funding for our local judicial system, provide funding to keep our kids safe, and support victims for our area.

ICYMI: In the last state budget I was successful in getting Brown County 7 new ADAs. I am excited for Brown County Government to receive this much-needed support to reduce their court backlog.

In the last budget I was successful in adding language to the budget to put a decommissioning date in state law for GBCI. Despite Governor Evers veto of this language, I am committed to fighting for this transformational project as this is a need that will not only benefit Northeast Wisconsin, but the entire state correctional system as a whole.

Just a reminder that when the Governor introduced his budget last year, it was 1,917 page long, which included over $3.7 billion in tax increases. That is why I voted to right size the budget and focus instead on supporting our area by delivering nearly $1.5 billion in tax cuts directly to you. This means more money in your pocket.

Because of my vote in favor of the bipartisan state budget, we continue to invest in entrepreneurs and family businesses across Wisconsin and in the 88th Assembly District. This includes a major investment in Belmark Inc., which is creating an employee child care facility and wellness center as part of its $121 million expansion project right here.
