It was great to meet with and hear the concerns of our local labor community. These men and women help build the wonderful community that we live in.

📍 Putnam County Legislature Physical Services Committee — August 13, 2026

I’ll discuss Agenda Item #7, the presentation by Putnam County Commissioner of Planning Barbara Barosa regarding the Putnam County Public Transit Study, which was issued in July 2026.

The presentation begins at approximately 1:38:00, and my comments begin at approximately 2:09:00.

The study identified a need for public transportation on the western side of Putnam County, particularly Putnam Valley and Philipstown.

I have previously attended meetings with the Bureau of Emergency Services and spoken in support of bringing the Putnam On Demand transit system to Putnam Valley. Residents have also reached out to me expressing their support and explaining how this service could benefit their families.

This is especially important for senior citizens and individuals with disabilities who may be unable to drive. Public transportation could help residents get to medical appointments, grocery stores, work, and other opportunities for social interaction and community participation.

📍 Putnam Valley Town Board Meeting — August 19, 2026

I’ll also cover several important agenda items from the full Town Board meeting:

Agenda Item 1A — Audit Report
The audit report presented by O’Connor Davies for the fiscal year ending 2025 begins at approximately 6:30.

Agenda Item 7D — Renewal of the Bond
Discussion and authorization for the Finance Director to go out to bid for the renewal of the bond begins at approximately 49:30.

Agenda Item 8A — Surviving Spouse Exemption
A discussion regarding the possibility of providing a 50% property tax exemption to the surviving spouse of a police officer killed in the line of duty begins at approximately 50:30.

I was honored to stand alongside residents of Putnam Valley, Bill Gouldman - Putnam County Legislator - District # 2, our Town Supervisor, and our Deputy Supervisor at Thursday's press conference at the Friendship Center in Philipstown announcing the proposed expansion of Putnam County's On-Demand microtransit program to the western side of the county.

This is an initiative I strongly support and one that I previously urged County Executive Kevin Byrne to bring to Putnam Valley. Over the past several months, a number of residents have reached out to me expressing the need for reliable, affordable transportation. A recent transit study confirmed what many of us have been hearing all along. There is a real need for this service in western Putnam County.

An on-demand microtransit program, similar to Uber or Lyft, makes far more sense than operating fixed bus routes that may not always be used. Riders can request transportation when they need it, making the system more convenient, efficient, and cost-effective.

This program has the potential to make a tremendous difference for our senior citizens, individuals with disabilities, veterans, and anyone without reliable transportation. It can help people get to doctor's appointments, work, schools, grocery stores, recreational activities, and even connect them to the Westchester County bus system for additional travel options.

As the parent of a daughter with disabilities, this announcement is especially meaningful to me. I truly hope that one day she, and so many others, will be able to benefit from this service and enjoy greater independence.

I also appreciate hearing that a grant has been secured to cover approximately 80% of the program's cost, helping to reduce the financial impact on taxpayers.

Thank you to Putnam County Executive Kevin Byrne and Barbara Barosa for their leadership and dedication in moving this project forward. I hope the Putnam County Legislature will approve funding for this important initiative as part of the 2027 County Budget.

This is the kind of investment that improves quality of life, expands opportunity, and helps ensure that every resident has access to the transportation they need.

🎙️ Welcome to Christian's Corner – Episode 1

I'm excited to share the very first episode of Christian's Corner. During this podcast I'll be talking about the issues that matter most to the residents of Putnam Valley and Putnam County.

One of the things I've always believed is that government works best when people are informed and engaged. Not everyone has the time to sit through lengthy public meetings, so my goal is to highlight the important discussions, explain what they mean, and keep you up to date on the issues that affect our community.

In Episode 1, I cover several key topics from the July 15, 2026 Putnam Valley Town Board meeting, including:

🇺🇸 Putnam County District Attorney Bob Tendy's presentation (approximately the 2-minute mark of the Town Board meeting video).

👮 Putnam County Legislator Bill Gouldman's presentation on a proposed property tax exemption for the surviving spouses of police officers who are killed in the line of duty. This proposal has already passed the Rules Committee and will be considered by the full Putnam County Legislature on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. (approximately the 35-minute mark).

⚡ A recommendation from the Putnam Valley Climate Smart Task Force to install two dual-port Level 2 ChargePoint CP6021 public EV charging stations at Town Hall (approximately the 49-minute mark of the meeting video).
