“He is very committed and does an amazing job!”

Mahtomedi Teacher Impact: Personal Success 💛💙

David Wald is a math teacher at Mahtomedi High School. Mr. Wald makes learning math approachable while building relationships that help students grow academically and personally.

Mahtomedi High School Class of 2027 student Abraham Jansen shared, “Mr. Wald has been an amazing math teacher in the way he presents the material for all students to digest easily and that he always ensures students have fun in class while learning. Mr. Wald takes time out of his day to help with homework or questions every day which has helped me understand the difficult concepts of math and clear up any confusion I may have about homework. He is very committed and does an amazing job!”

Lola Dambowy (Class of 2027) shared, “Wald has impacted me in so many ways throughout high school, both inside and outside the classroom on the soccer field. I am so grateful for all that he has done to teach me lessons about trigonometry, being a better soccer player, and being a good person in general! I will always remember to use my "luck" and pursue my goals because of Wald!”

A Strong Start: New Transition Day Supports Sixth and Ninth Grade Students 💛💙
Before the other grades returned to Mahtomedi Middle and High Schools, sixth and ninth-grade students had a first day designed just for them!

New to the 2026-27 academic calendar, the transition day gave students a supportive, low-stress opportunity to get ready for school. Students attended each of their classes, followed their schedule, learned the school, met teachers and staff, and connected with peers through fun activities.

Thank you to our teachers, staff, and student leaders from Where Everybody Belongs (WEB) and Link Crew for welcoming our students and getting them ready for their first day!

Thank You, Custodians! 💛💙
Help us thank our custodians for their hard work behind the scenes, as they get us ready for another school year!

We are grateful for the many ways our custodians prepare our classrooms and buildings. Over the summer, they wax tile floors, deep clean carpets and desks, paint and repair rooms, assemble furniture, and even move items between buildings, all while supporting events across our schools.

📸: Help us wish Custodian Phil Udelhofen at the Mahtomedi District Education Center a happy retirement as he celebrates 14 years with Mahtomedi Public Schools! 🎉
