"Where do I go?" A lot of changes are happening in the courthouse! Here is what you need to know when you come to the courthouse. First, construction is still happening, just on a smaller scale. Please be mindful of signs and barricades. Second, the Treasurer's Office and State's Attorney's Office are in the annex. You can use that entrance, or you can enter through the courthouse by using the brick archway. For security purposes, we will be restricting entrance to the courthouse via the door on the EAST side of the building or from inside through the annex.

County offices/courthouse will close at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 to allow County employees to attend the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Open House at the new jail and law enforcement center from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.

The City of Vermillion has received a grant to assist residents with affordable housing repairs. This is a brief survey about affordable housing in Vermillion, conducted by the Government Research Bureau at the University of South Dakota and the City of Vermillion. This survey will help staff understand housing repairs needs and determine how to best use these funds to serve the community. Responses are confidential and will only be used for program planning purposes.
