The past four days have been busy for us at the fire station. We appreciate each and every volunteer who stepped up to help us help our neighbors. Thank you to our up river friends for sending us their unused, but filled, sandbags. They were very much appreciated! It was a pleasure working with all of you! Thank you.

We will be filling sandbags at the fire station this morning beginning at 10:00am. If you are available, grab some gloves and a shovel and come down. Thank you.

Today with the help of many community members, the Winneconne Poygan Fire District filled many pallets of sandbags for our residents who may need them in the next few days. The sand was donated by Zillges. Later in the afternoon the Town of Wolf River sent us a truckload of filled sandbags. Anyone in the Village of Winneconne, Town of Winneconne or Town of Poygan who needs sandbags, please come to the station and take what you need. They are on the north side of the station along Prospect Street.

The Winneconne Poygan Fire Department is looking for volunteers to meet at Station 28 to help fill sandbags starting at 4:00 this afternoon, Sunday April 19. We want to be proactive in case the water in Fremont, New London, Shiocton , etc, begins flooding here. Our goal is to be ready to help our residents of the district who may need them later this week.

The Winneconne Poygan Fire Department was honored to host the Winneconne Home Schoolers for an educational tour at the fire station. Chief Kevin Allcox provided an overview of the firefighting role, discussing the various tools, vehicles, and equipment used, and explained the requirements for becoming a firefighter. Firefighters Jeremiah Pruetz, Bennett Krings, and Matt Mathison were on hand to share their insights and experiences. The group was divided, with some members exploring the station's apparatus and roles inside, while others received hands-on training on the pumper and water spray equipment. The tour concluded with a group photograph inside the station. The department extends its appreciation to the Winneconne Area Homeschoolers for providing them with the opportunity to share their knowledge and expertise.
